1.

Purpose
The Site tests shall be made on each transport unit and, whenever practicable, at the
Site's works to ensure that the product is in accordance with the equipment on which
the Manufacturer test has been carried out.

4.8 MPD600 (partial discharge device).

5. Work Sequence
5.01. Visual Check.
Technical Department

The switchgear shall be checked typically to verify its compliance with the purchase
specification. They are ;
Visual check for panel dimension as per contract drawing (front / rear, top / bottom
views).
Visual check for components and Low Voltage terminals lay out.
Visual check for panel nameplate, rating plate, mimic diagram (if any).
Visual inspection for panel painting.
Visual check for Main Components as per single line diagram.
Dimension check and Inspection for main and main grounding busbar and marking.
5.02 Mechanical operation tests.
Operation tests are made to ensure that the switching devices and removable parts
comply with the prescribed operating conditions and that the mechanical interlocks work
properly. During these tests which are performed without voltage on or current in the
main circuits, it shall be verified, in particular, that the switching devices open and close
correctly within the specified limits of the supply voltage and pressure of their operating
devices.
5.03 Tests of auxiliary electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic devices.
The electrical, pneumatic and other interlocks together with control devices having a
predetermined sequence of operation shall be tested five times in succession in the
intended conditions of use and operation and with the most unfavourable limit values of
auxiliary supply. During the test no adjustment shall be made.
The tests are considered to be satisfactory if the auxiliary devices have operated
properly, if they are in good operating condition after the tests and if the effort to operate
them is practically the same before and after the tests.
5.04 Pressure tests of gas-filled compartments (if applicable).
Pressure tests shall be made on all gas-filled compartments after manufacture. Each
compartment shall be subjected to a test at 1,3 times the design pressure for 1 min.

This does not apply for sealed compartments with a rated filling pressure of 50 kPa
(relative pressure) and below.
After this test the compartments shall show no signs of distress or any distortion likely to
affect the operation of the switchgear and controlgear.
Technical Department

5.05 Main Contact resistance test.

Subject to agreement between manufacturer and user the dc voltage drop or resistance
of each phase of the main circuits that shall be measured.

Contact Resistance Connection

5.06 Metering and Protection test on Secondary.
Metering and protection relay shall be tested from secondary side. It can be single or 3phase injection.
Especially for Current, Voltage and powerTransformers, they are injected from primary
side.

c ) Protection Test Connection

d) Metering Test Connection

5.07 Power frequency Withstand Test on Primary.

The power-frequency voltage test shall be performed according to the its requirements.
The test voltage shall be applied 80% connecting each phase conductor of the main
circuit in turn to the high-voltage terminal of the test supply for 1 minute, with the other
phase conductors connected to earth and the continuity of the main circuit assured (for
example, by closing the switching devices or otherwise).
For gas-filled compartments, the tests shall be performed at the rated filling pressure (or
density) of the insulating gas.
