1. A) Nevada Dept. of Education: The Nevada Dept. of Education is functions like a

database of the States schools. One can find information about a district, school, teacher,
etc. Other information pertaining to education in the State of Nevada can be located here.
B) CCSD: The Clark County School District is the largest school district in Nevada. This
is the districts website. One can look up information about a certain school, teacher, or
activity that is going on within the district and much more.
C) Public Employees Retirement System of Nevada (PERS): a benefit program that
provides retirement income based on ones work throughout their life. They also award
this income to a person whose working ability has been disabled or reduced.
2. EDU 220; Case Study
3. There are different packets required for observations. These are the Activities packet
that is available in EDU 201, 202, and 203, a cooperating teacher packet, and Information
about the observing student.
4. Common Core are sets of guidelines that state what a student should know and at what
grade level he/she should know it. Both students and teachers are held accountable for the
standards that are met. The standards are used to keep schools across the country on the
same page.
5. My Pathway towards my degree (secondary education with social studies focus) is as
follows: 1st sem EDU 202, 214; ENG 101; 3 credits of FINE ARTS, 3 ELECTIVE
credits. 2nd sem EDU 210, 280; MATH 120; COM 101; GEN ED SCIENCE; 3
ELECTIVE credits. 3rd sem EDU 220; HIST 101, 217; ENG 102; 6 ELECTIVE credits.
4th sem EDU 299, HIST 102, ENG 223, PHIL 102, GEN ED SCIENCE + LAB.

brings up resources that provide information about the community, certain events/ projects,
bullying issues, and partnership programs. The parents tab/link brings up resources about the
districts, enrollment information, and info about zoning.

3. A) Alternative Routes to Licensure: Unique opportunities given to prospective teachers who
wish to teach in high-need areas. Conferred BA wanted. B) Curriculum Engine: provides access
to curriculum information and tools designed to help/support teachers. C) VegasPBS: Las Vegas
Public Broadcasting Service is a source of educational television. Teachers can access videos
other sources of educational material here.
4. A) Transcript Request: Used by former students and K-12 institutions to request a transcript of
High School credits. B) Scholarships: Provides information, step-by-step instructions, tutorials
and applications for scholarships. C) Report a Bully: Provides the option to report a bully to the
school/district.
5. Zoning search and maps is an important well of information regarding zoning maps and tools
used to find out where ones child is supposed to go to school. In addition to maps, there is a
search tool that can bring up different zones and suggested routes to school.
