NURSERY BRANCH

Class II Dinosaur Party


Dinosaur theme was the revision project; in which the
children learnt about different types of dinosaurs, their
habitats, feed and characteristics. Integrated activities were
done and at the end of the project, a party was held to
reinforce all the information covered during the project.

Nursery- Toy party


Nurserys theme of the month was Toys. At the end of the
theme, children were asked to bring their favorite toys with
them for show-n-tell. They talked about their toys, coloured
the planned worksheets and headbands for giveaways. An
outdoor activity throw the ring was also planned.
Open House

KG I I spy party
Children looked for shapes, colours, numbers and letters that
were hidden at different places.
The theme for the Open House was Candy Land. Activities
were planned in every class, in which the student and parents
participated. Cupcakes were given as giveaways. The school
was decorated to depict candyland. Parents were allowed to
explore the campus.
Independence Day
KG II Gardening Fun
Gardening fun was an activity related to the project Garden.
The children learnt new related to vocabulary plants. Various
activities and games were planned accordingly.

Independence Day was celebrated at school; children came in


national and regional dresses. Cake cutting ceremony was
held and the students of class II presented national songs in
front of the whole school. A musical concert was arranged by
the coordinators and some games, activities and giveaways
were also planned for the students.

Class I Sports
Four sports were chosen; cricket, hockey, basketball and
throw ball.
The students were given basic information and rules regarding
the chosen sports. The children played these sports at school
and various activities were also integrated in the curriculum.

JUNIOR BRANCH
Independence Day
On 12th august 2016, Friday, the junior branch celebrated
Pakistans Independence Day. The students were dressed in
green and white and they were told to bring a small flag along.
The school was decorated. The canteen had a special menu.
There were cupcakes and Pakola drink available. They also had
a DJ, which was amazing and a sing-along session too. The
classes conducted assembly presentations throughout the
month. The presentations evoked the patriotic spirit amongst
students.
Open house
On 5th September 2016, the junior branch had its open house.
It was held in the morning. Parents of all students came to
visit the branch. The students also came along, in uniforms.
The school was decorated. They also had a tour guide, who
showed everyone around. There was light, soothing music
going on in the background to company the parents. The
parents were also given a giveaway. It was a folder with the
A.M.I. School logo and glow sticks with a tag saying, Cant
wait to see you shine. They also had a suggestion box, in
which the parents give their feedbacks. The event was a huge
success.
Elections
The students were nominated for the elections. For head boy
and head girl students from grade VI were nominated, for
captain and vice-captain students from grade V and grade VI
were nominated and for the prefects students from grade III
and IV were nominated. The campaigning started in the
beginning of the month September and it ended on 22nd
September. During these days the students gave out badges
and hung posters. The nominated students also gave speeches
and promised them to fulfill their duties. They encouraged the
students to vote for them. Finally on 23rd September 2016,
the junior branch had their elections. The students voted for
their choices. The results were quite interesting. Sarim Munir
of grade VI-B became the head boy and Simra Faisal of grade
VI-B became the head girl. Prefects are to be changed every
month. In the first term the prefects were chosen from grade
III and in the second term they will be chosen from grade IV.
The oath taking ceremony was held on 28th September 2016
on Wednesday.

SENIOR BRANCH
The senior section of The AMI School has both been a part of,
and organized different annual events and exhibitions. During
the months of August and September, students were invited
to be a part of these occasions.
Annual elections 2016
Elections were held on 19th of August 2016, for the student
council of the year 2016-17. The students nominated from
class 0II campaigned from 15th of August to 18th of August. Out
of the eight nominated students, one with the highest vote
was to become the president of the student council and the
one with the second highest number of votes was to take up
the post of vice president of the student council. Out of the six
remaining nominees, four were to be elected as prefects of
the council.
Jashn - e Pakistan
On the 3rd of September, the school organized Jashn e
Pakistan, to celebrate 69 years of independence of Pakistan.
The students were invited for this evening and spend it with
their teachers and fellow classmates to celebrate Pakistans
Independence Day. The students displayed true patriotism by
honoring the country through various presentations and
energetic performances.
Social Welfare Week
Students from classes OI and OII volunteered in providing
social services and cooperation to the different welfare
institutions of Karachi. They were IDA RIEU School, SRSC, Child
Aid Organization, and the Kidney Centre. Students cooperated
in helping the people in these institutions and showed
compassion towards them. They learnt a lot from these
special members of the society as well.
Magnify Science
On 23rd, 24thand 25th of September, students from class OI and
OII presented the projects at a Science exhibition organized by
The Dawood Foundation (TDF). Along with our school, many
other institutions had prepared their projects on different
themes.

I-Tec 2016: On 7th of September, students from class OI and


OII paid a visit to NED University of science and technology.
They attended an event in which students were to come up
with new ideas (inventions) that would help solve the current
problems in Pakistan. Students of AMI School came up with
brilliant ideas and presented it to the board members of NED
and were highly appreciated.
