OCTOBER IS THE MONTH OF THE ROSARY.

Honor our Blessed Mother by daily recitation of The Rosary.

As we journey ON MISSION FOR THE CHURCH ALIVE! may we be inspired to use our Godgiven gifts to build up the Church, which if The body of Christ. The parish meetings are a chance to
learn about the current realities facing our diocese and how we can best align our resources to provide
ministry and outreach to everyone. (Our parish consultation sessions will be held on Tuesday, November 8th and Thursday, November 10th from 7:00-9:00-pm.) Visit OnMissionChurchAlive.org for
more information on the draft models after our parish sessions are completed.

All Saints DayTuesday, Nov. 1st

Masses at 9:00am & 7:00pm

On All Saints Day we commemorate all the Saints who have been canonized because of the model lives of
discipleship and we also commemorate all the unnamed saints on whom this world depends for its very life.

All Souls DayWednesday, November 2nd

Mass of Remembrance at 7:00pm

We will celebrate our annual Mass of Remembrance on Wednesday, November 2nd. All those who have been buried
from our parish during the last year (Nov. 2, 2015-Nov. 2, 2016) will be prayed for and remembered by name. We also
extend our loving support to all those who are grieving the loss of their beloved family member or friend. Together in
worship and prayer we will gather in faith to celebrate our hope in the resurrection of Christ.

THE PATRIOTIC ROSARY

The Patriotic Rosary, inspired by Our Lady of Medjugorje, is a powerful prayer offered for divine protection and mercy for our nation. On Thursday, October 27th at 6:30pm, the Holy Name Society, Altar Rosary/Christian Mothers, Ladies of Charity, Catholic Mens Fellowship, Knights of Columbus and Columbiettes of St. Damien of Molokai Parish are coming together in the Church for the recitation of this prayer. We
are extending a very cordial invitation to all parishioners of St. Damien of Molokai to join us as one voice in
asking Our Blessed Mother to intercede for our country during the critical times that lie ahead.
Special reflections will be made for the President, Senate, Congress, Governors, Supreme Court Justices
and each of the 50 states. Patriotic songs will be sung throughout the prayer. One hour for ONE NATION
UNDER GOD.
THANKSGIVING DINNER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Wednesday, Nov 23rd & Thursday, Nov. 24th
It's that time of year again when we open our hearts and hands to our community in the spirit of Thanksgiving. We are asking for volunteers to help this year on Wednesday with food prep and clean-up and
Thursday with food prep, serving, delivery, and clean-up. Also, any baked goods (pies, cookies, brownies, etc.) would be greatly appreciated and can be dropped off on Wednesday. Monetary donations will
also be gladly accepted.
Dinner will be served from 11am-2pm, Thursday, Nov. 26th at Fr. Abbate Hall, 400 Park Ave.
All are welcome to attend - please share with your friends, family, and neighbors.
This is a large undertaking, we are looking for 4-5 people who would be interested in helping share in the
coordination of the various activities on Weds. and Thurs. to ensure everything goes smoothly, and possibly with any of the remaining prerequisite shopping, advertising, and other logistics. Please contact the
Parish Office with your name, phone number, and availability, if you would like to assist as a coordinator
or with shopping, food prep, serving or as a delivery driver.

Pastoral Impressions
by Fr. Bill
Have you ever been around
someone who has a knack for
putting people down? It seems
that they feel good about themselves only
when they are degrading someone else. That
could be part of the Pharisees motivation in
todays gospel for thanking God that hes not
like everyone else. He may be acting more
out of fear and insecurity than out of pride or
arrogance.

*NEXT WEEKEND, 10/29 & 10/30, WE WILL BE

TAKING A SECOND COLLECTION AT ALL
MASSES FOR CATHOLIC CHARITIES
IN THE UNITED STATES
AND THE CARIBBEAN TO AID THE
VICTIMS OF HURRICANE MATTHEW.*

What about us? Its doubtful that we spend

all of our time judging everyone else. But are
there other ways that we compare ourselves?
When you see someones weakness, do you
use that person as a measuring stick to judge
yourself?

Veterans and First Responders

Tribute Concert

This spirit of comparison is something to

watch out for; it can take the joy right out of
your faith! If you find yourself thinking that
way, remember that God isnt comparing
you to anyone. He loves you just as you are.
No matter how many times you hear that, it
can still carry a hint of surprise. We all need
improvement.
But this love of God must
be the starting point for any genuine spiritual
growth we experience. He just loves us, and
there is nothing we can do to make him love
us less!

Each fall, the Greater Monongahela Area Community Band presents a concert as a tribute to
Veterans and First Responders. The concert is
hosted by Ringgold School District and
Ringgold Middle School Band in the Ringgold
Middle School Auditorium. (6023 State Route
88, Finleyville, PA 15332)
The Sunday, October 30th concert begins at
2PM in the auditorium of the Ringgold Middle
School. There is no admission charge.
ATTENTION VOLUNTEERS: All volunteers are required to sign a waiver for fingerprinting for their volunteer file. Forms are located in the back of the church in the old baptistery. Signed forms can be placed in the collection basket. Failure to do so will cause your file
to be archived and the volunteer non-compliant.
As mentioned in the announcements last week,
Kathy Ballein is gravely ill. If you are interested in helping with her medical expenses, the
website for donations is listed below.
www.youcaring.com/kathleen-ballein-669041

In your reflection today, try meditating exclusively on Gods love for you. Dont dwell
on your sins; God already knows about
them! Just sit in his presence and think of
all the ways he cares for you. He sent his
Son to die for you. He planned from all eternity that you would be a part of his kingdom.
He is constantly sending grace and blessings
to keep you in his love. If you reflect on this
long enough, you wont worry about how
your neighbor is doing. You will be too busy
thanking God for his many joys and blessings!
