5 minutes: Introduction
When students step into class
spilt the room into four groups.
Students will then be allocated a
country each, Sudan, Turkey,
Vietnamese and Australian.
Students will sit in their groups
for now.
Students will have a list of items
on a piece of paper. Items will be
a football, a word of each
language, a food from each
country, a cultural toy from each
country and a picture of a
landmark from each country.
Students must think as though
they are a person from their
country allocated, and attempt
to identify what exactly each
item is.
Outcome should show that all
countries should be able to
identify the football and the
sport it is

10 minutes:
Students are to research the
website document provided.
Students are to write up a fact
sheet using facts provided on
document on football and the
community.
15 minutes:
Students will now return to
their allocated country groups
for the following activity.
Students will simulate the
scenario that they are
migrants from their country to
Australia or as an Australian
Anglo-Saxon based community.
As a community students must
create a football flyer that is
promoting a football programl
in the community.
Flyer will need to identify and
sell to community citizens of
all ethnic backgrounds to
participate.
