2. Provide a summary and critique of the journal article.

a. Discuss what the authors knew prior to their experiment,

what materials they used, the experimental design, and
what they discovered.
b. What were some strengths of the experiment?
c. Were there any flaws in the experiment?
d. Suggest ways to make their experiment better.
3. Be prepared to discuss in class.

Notes:
Want to do:
Study the movement of Salmon Sharks throughout
the eastern North Pacific Ocean. And how are the
ecology around their migrated to areas affected.
Know:
To understand a species behavior and how they
would response to a change in the environment,
we have to observe what factors they consider in
habitat selection, offspring production, and their
migration patterns.
Predators in a prey abundant area are more
likely to engage in what experts call arearestricted search (ARS), which is spending more
time in picking for prey in an abundant area than
it would in not abundant areas.
Salmon Sharks eat a lot

Do:
Monitored Sharks using Satellite telemetry from
satellite tags attached to the captured sharks.
Used Environmental Data such as Sea Surface
Temperature, Primary productivity, etc. to track the
sharks
Then they put all those data through analysis.
Find:

They found out how all the sharks moved between

subarctic foraging grounds and subtropical
destinations. And how and where ARS behavior
occurred, coastal Alaska and the California Current.

Strengths of the experiment:

Very well cited a lot of sources, a lot of data

Weaknesses:
Too much data and too complicated use of words.
Confusing and unclear results
I know this is a professional journal but maybe you
could aim to make the results less wordy so that the
people reading may see how the experiments turned
out.
Very limited areas of testing, it is not accurate to
make a general assumption based on a small group
