Othello Tis impossible

Iago: I will...
Enters Desdemona

(THE HANDKERCHIEF DROPS TO THE FLOOR)
BOTH EXISTS.
(EMILIA COMES IN AND PICKS UP THE HANDKERCHIEF)
Emilia: Im glad I found this handkerchief. My husband has asked me to steal it a

hes going to do with it.
(IAGO ENTERS)
Emilia: Ive got something for you. What would you give me for the handkerchief?
Iago: What handkerchief?
Emilia: The one the Moor gave to Desdemona, which you asked me to steal so many
times.
Iago: Good, give it to me.
(EMILIA EXISTS)
Iago: Ill leave this handkerchief at Cassios house and let him find it.
(OTHELLO ENTERS)
Othello: What! Shes cheating on me? Youd better give me the ocular proof! Give
me one good reason to belief that shes cheating on me.
Iago: Okay, since you wanted the truth I recently shared a bed with Cassio and
you know what he was saying in his sleep? He said Sweet Desdemona, lets hide
our love. And then he grabbed my hand and kissed me hard, even put his leg over
mine!
Othello: What! Ill tear her to pieces!

Iago: Wait, we dont have definite proof yet. Do you know whether she has a
strawberry handkerchief?
Othello: Yes, I gave it to her, my first gift to her.
Iago: I dont know about it then. I saw Cassio wiping his beard with the exact same
one today.
Othello: Id kill that bastard Cassio and Desdemona!
Last Scene: What happens in Desdemonas bedroom/Othello kills her/ all killings.
Othello: That handkerchief. The handkerchief that I loved and gave to you, to Cassio.
Desdemona: No, I didnt. I swear on my life and soul. Go ask Cassio.
Othello: My sweet darling, dont lie. Youre on your deathbed.
Desdemona: I am? But Im not dying yet...
Othello: Yes, right now. You wont change my mind. Youre going to die right now.
Desdemona: Heaven have mercy on me. Send me away my lord, but dont kill me.
Kill me tomorrow, but let me live tonight.
Othello: No! Its too late!
(OTHELLO SMOTHERS HER)
Emilia: My lord! My lord! Hello, my lord!
Othello: Should I let her in? Is that a good idea? Now that Desdemona is no longer
on this earth.
(EMILIA ENTERS)
Emilia: Oh, my lord! What terrible murders have been committed over here! Do you
know that Cassio has killed Roderigo?
Othello: Really? Roderigo and Cassio are both dead?
Emilia: No, Cassio wasnt killed.
Othello: Cassios not dead? Then the wrong man has been killed.
Desdemona: Oh, Ive been murdered unfairly!
Emilia: Oh, whos voice is that? Thats my sweet ladys voice. Help! Oh, lady, speak
again. Sweet Desdemona! Oh sweet mistress, speak! Oh, who did this thing to you?

Desdemona: No one. I did it myself. Give my love to my kind husband. Oh, goodbye!
Othello: Shes lying even if shes going down to hell. I killed her.
Emilia: She was even more an angel and youve an even blacker devil! Help, help!
The Moor has killed my mistress! Murder! Murder!
(IAGO, MONTANO, GRATIANO enters)
Iago: Damn it, shut your mouth!
Emilia: No, the truth will come out. Ill say the truth. You think Desdemona gave the
handkerchief to Cassio? No, I found it by accident and gave it to my husband. He
had begged me to steal it many times.
Iago: You evil whore! Youre lying!
Emilia: I swear Im not. Oh you murderous fool! How did you ever get such a good
wife?
Othello: Wont heaven strike this Iago dead? You absolute villain!
(OTHELLO RUNS AT IAGO. IAGO STABS EMILIA.)
Gratiano: The Moors gone and his wifes dead.
Montano: You go get the Moor and Im going after Iago. Hes a horrid criminal.
(EMILIA DYING)

telling the truth, and as I say this, I die.

...
(LODOVICO AND MONTANO ENTERS, THEN CASSIO AND IAGO)
Othello: If you are a devil, I wont be able to kill you.
(OTHELLO STABS IAGO)
LODOVICO: Take his sword away from him.
Iago: Im bleeding, but you didnt kill me.
Othello: Im not sosry either. I want you to live, since to me, death is happiness.

Lodovico: Youll have to come with us. Youre stripped of your power and your
command, and Cassio will govern Cyprus! As for Iago, well think of some torture to
hurt him a lot but keep him alive. Take him away!
Othello: Wait. When you record these sad events, please describe me exactly as I
am, of one that loved not wisely but too well; of one not easily jealous but, being
wrought.
(OTHELLO STABS HIMSELF)
Lodovico: Oh, what a bloody end to all this!
Othello (to Desdemona): I kissed you before I killed you. Now, killing myself, Im
dying while I kiss you again.
(OTHELLO KISSES DESDEMONA AND DIES)
Cassio: I was afraid that this would happen. He was always a noble, brave man, but I
didnt think he had a weapon.
Lodovico (to Iago): You bloodthirsty dog! Look at these dead people on this bed. You
did all this. He makes him sick. Take him away! Cassio, youve inherited everything.
Governor, I leave it to you to punish this evil villain.
EXEUNT.
