JEWELL, B. E.

The reporter called 911 and advised their business had been burglarized. I met
with him and other employees and he advised unknown suspect(s) cut the fence
along the back of the property and then gained entry into one of their trailers
which is used to store their donations. After taking inventory it was determined
there was approximately $450.00 worth of inventory taken. Items included Tide
dish liquid, Pampers diapers, and dryer sheets. Employees did notice binoculars
laying on the ground approximately 100 feet from the trailer. They advised they
did not belong to the food bank. One of the employees picked up the binoculars
and handled them for a period of time therefore no prints were taken. It did not
appear anything else was disturbed. The reporter did advise they had moved the
trailer to where it is sitting now because they are in the process of building a new
walk-in cooler/freezer for the pantry.

The victim reported that her son (listed offender) showed up at her residence at
about 0830 hrs upset about the fact that she had previously told him to move out.
The victim stated that she went outside to call police and he followed her outside
to prevent her from calling. She said that he then became physical and hit her with
his hands. She stated "he threw me around like a rag doll." She said that he ended

The victim stated she was outside the apartments in the parking lot talking on
her phone. She stated she noticed a small white passenger car pull up to the exit of
the parking lot. She stated the light skinned black male driver rolled his window
down and said I`m gonna slap the shit out of you. She stated the driver then stuck
his hand out the window, which had a handgun it and pointed it at her. She stated
the driver then drove the car in the direction she was standing. She stated she ran
back inside the apartment complex at that time. She stated she went to her family
members apartment and told her about it. She stated she then went back out in the
hallway to look out the window to see if the suspect left, at which time she noticed
the vehicle was going North on Lodge.

Officer was dispatched to Kohls at 201 N. Burkhardt Rd for a theft in progress.
While enroute, dispatched advised that the suspect had jumped the fence and was
running toward Target. Det. J. Beckwith with the Vanderburgh County Sheriffs
Office attempted to stop the suspect and he continued to flee. The suspect was
apprehended behind Pier one in the Target shopping complex.

Officers were flagged down by RP at the intersection of Columbia and Governor.


The RP was with the victim, the owner of 1019 N. Garvin, and advised a glass
door to the residence had been damaged. Officers arrived to the residence and
observed broken glass to the back door of the residence. The damage was done to
the door`s exterior glass. According to the victim, entry to the residence was not
made by the suspect. Officers provided the victim with a case number referencing
this report.

Upon arriving only one vehicle was still on scene. The Victim said that the other
driver advised that she had to go to work and couldn`t stand by. The OF-C.B.
gave the Victim-A. Wilson her phone number and name then left.
V-A Wilson said that she had been south on Hirschland Rd getting ready to make
a right turn onto Virginia St. OF-C.B was west on Virginia St and in the right turn
lane for making a right turn onto Hirschland Rd. V-A Wilson started to pull onto
Virginia St based on OF-C.B. being in the turn lane. OF-C.B. continued straight
instead of turning and V-A Wilson ran into the passenger side rear bumper area of
OF-C.B.`s black chevy cruze. There was damage to V-A Wilson`s front bumper.

We were dispatched to Wal Mart for a female shoplifter in custody. Upon our
arrival, we met with the witness who is a loss prevention officer with the store.
The witness stated he watched the offender conceal several items in her purse
while she was shopping. The witness watched the offender as she walked past all
points of purchase and tried to exit the store. The witness stopped the offender and
escorted her to the loss prevention office.
The offender was cooperative with officers and the store. She was issued a
citation and released from the scene.

Officers were dispatched to the 1400 Block of Sycamore for a person with a gun.
Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the victim. The victim informed
Officers that his neighbor had pulled a gun on the neighbor across the street. The
victim also stated that the offender then turned toward`s him and tried to force his
way into the victims home. The victim was able to protect himself and struck the
offender which made him drop the firearm. After setting up a perimeter, the
offender Lisanby, was located and arrested. Detective Arbaugh arrived to
assist with the incident.

Burglary Attempted

The victim called to report that someone had attempted to gain entry to her home.
Between 0800 and 1130 on 10/20/16 (while the victim was sitting on her front
porch), an unknown suspect raised the screen to an open bathroom window located
at the rear of her home. The victim noticed the screen being open when she went in
to close her window. The victim then exited to the rear of her home where she
noticed that the suspect had also leaned onto or attempted to open a rear storm
door leaving smudges on the glass and clear footprints on a back step. While
speaking with the victim, I observed what appeared to be small drops of dried
blood on a window sill of another window. There was also a very small amount of
damage to the screen. The victim claimed that she had never noticed the damage or
droplets in the past. The victim also noted that the fence gate to the north of her
home was standing open. The victim does not believe entry was made, nor did
anything appear to be missing at this time. Due to the similarities with recent
burglaries in the area, crime scene was called to the scene.

The involved other advised she observed two men come out of her home and she
chased them one block to the west. She advised officers one of the suspects broke
into 1104 S Lincoln Park Dr to escape her but the residence showed no signs of
forced entry. The occupants were found to not be involved at all. The other house
and male the involved other said was involved had his small toddler with him and
had just returned home from the gas station three blocks away. The dispatched run
was found to be false.

I was dispatch to 2299 Oak Hill Rd reference a found property. The property was
located off Oak Hill Rd about quarter mile down a gravel service road that goes
back into the woods near pigeon creek. Sgt. Saltzman and I spoke with the
reporter, who stated while looking firewood, he discovered a bag containing misc
items, a gun, shackles, prescription medications, and female items. Crime Scene
Luecke was notified and arrived to photograph and recovered the items.

I was dispatched to this location for single dwelling house fire. Fire investigator
determined that this was an arson. The fire was started in the basement. Officers
were advised that it appears the fire was started on a peg board in the basement.
Damage was limited to minor damage in the basement. Fire investigation division
determined that this was purposely started. There were no signs of forced entry.
This is a foreclosed property and no contents are inside.

The victim also advised a cordless tool kit was missing from the residence. On
scene, officers observed the back door to the residence to be open. Officers also
observed the glass to the back door of the residence had been removed and was
missing. The victim was provided with a case number referencing this report.

Upon arriving I spoke with Loss Prevention Employee, RP-D Alexander.
Alexander said that he had observed OF-R.S. and OF-R.F. conceal items
separately and then leave the store. Upon stopping them Alexander found 2 items
on OF-R.S. that totaled 100.00. Multiple items were found on OF-R.F. which
totaled 259.00. The Offenders are mother and daughter. They were cited and
given a court date.

returned to her vehicle about an hour later to find that her window was down. The
victim stated that she saw her glove compartment had been gone through. The
victim stated that her wallet was in there, and that she had approximately four
