Part I. .What reasons do non-passers have identified which is to be the root cause of their
failure to pass the examination?

These non-passers believed that they are not yet ready to take the exam and what
they have learned is not sufficient enough and identified underlying reasons
include:
(1.)most of their time is allotted to their family;
(2) the time gap between last attendance to schooling and enrolment in ALS;
(3) learning difficulties;
(4)dont have the proficiency in organizing ideas;
(5) poor handwriting; and,
(6)dont have the confidence that he/she will pass the exam
Decided not to attend learning sessions anymore because of work .
Most of them have low scores in essay writing,
Failed to be admitted on time on the examination room due to lack of requirements.
A learner confessed that he failed to follow the instruction by not using the
prescribed .pencil. Another learner responded that she is convinced that the
examiner gave them wrong instruction.
Learners explained that they are emotionally disturbed. Other learners stressed that
they have too many erasures in their test papers.

Part II What initiatives do their learning facilitators offered to them to address the
identified problems during their attendance to the program?

Respondents stressed out that their own gave them the
following learning assistance: intervention programs based on their learning needs;
individual learning assistance / tutoring activities; supplementary learning
materials activities; and, some modular activities.

Part III. What initiatives do these non-passers take in order to address their own
challenges?

Learners have also devised their own initiatives to improve their performance
They concluded the following initiatives: studying lessons after work
asking supplemental activities from their facilitators; and, conducting group
learning sessions with classmates.
The respondents noted that they initiated studying efforts to at least address their
learning necessities.

Learning from their experiences
These non-passers suggested significant points to future examinees on how to avoid
failing and possibly pass the exam. double-up studying efforts; have own learning
initiatives; attend review sessions;
Give focus on essay writing
Practice under time pressure.
They have also noted that the test administrators should orient properly the examiners to
facilitate the examination according to the standards

The researcher designed a program for an enriched intervention and enhanced instruction
Presented in the matrix below are nine (9) programs which will specifically cater the
needs of the learners both non-passers and new students.
These programs aims to cater the identified reasons,
so that future occurrences of these problems will be avoided
