andisnowincludingfixedandunlicensedwirelesstechnologies,suchasWiFi,
initsspecificationsdevelopmentwork.Toreflectthatenlargedrole,itwillnext

ItisalsoformingallianceswiththeOpenFogConsortiumandOpenEdge
Computing.Thatoutreachneededtohappen:Bothofthosegroupshavea
moreexpansivevisionofdistributedcomputingandhavealreadyattracted
supportfromsomebighittersintheITworld.MicrosoftCorp.(Nasdaq:MSFT)
andDellInc.(Nasdaq:DELL)aremembersofOpenFog,forinstance,butnot
oftheETSIMECgroup.Hadthelatterremainedaloof,itwouldhaverisked
beingsidelined.
Thatthreathasnotentirelydisappeared,though.Evenwithitsbroaderremit,
theETSIgroupisstillfocusedonedgecomputing.Asitsnameimplies,
