Chapter 1
Dynamic Management
Overview
Function Overview
The dynamic management module provides you with the man-machine commands running
on EMS platform and base stations. You can manage resources by executing dynamic
commands on specified resource objects.
1. On the EMS client, right-click an agent NE in the NE tree, and select NE Management
> Start NE Management, see Figure 1-1.The NE Management function is enabled.

Chapter 2
Executing Dynamic
Management Commands
This procedure describes how to execute dynamic management commands.
You can manage system resources by selecting an NE and resource object and executing
the corresponding dynamic command.
Steps
1. Select an NE in the NE tree of the Dynamic Management tab, see area 1 in Figure
2-1.

Note:
In the SubNetwork ID and NE ID text boxed, enter an ID or an ID range, for example,
"0-2, 4, 5" indicate the subnets or NEs with IDs 0-2, 4, and 5. When you enter the
SubNetwork ID and NE ID, if the backgrounds of the text boxes are light green, the
entered values are valid. If the backgrounds of the text boxes are red, the entered
values are invalid.
Click Export. The result list is saved in a local directory in Excel format.

Board reset may affect the current services of a base station to some extent.
Service Impact

Context
Board reset operations include:
l
Typical reset
A typical reset refers to resetting a board by sending a software message. However,
if the target board is out of control, it cannot be reset.
Forcible reset
A forcible reset refers to resetting an uncontrolled board forcibly by cutting off the
power supply to the target board.
Steps
1. In the left navigation tree, select the NE where the board to be reset belongs, see 1 in
Figure 5-1.

2. In the Dynamic Command navigation tree, double-click Reset Board, see 2 in Figure
5-1. The NEs that can execute this command are displayed in the right pane.
You can use either of the following methods to find the Reset Board command:

(Recommended) Enter the key word (s) in the text box, for example, Reset
Board.
In the Dynamic Command navigation tree, select SDR > Device Group > Reset
Board.
