SCENARIO

On or about 6:00 a.m. of October 12, 2015, Remy Mariano, a


transgender, was walking along the street when a man in early 20s suddenly
grabbed her bag claiming she stole this from him. Remy resisted and fought
her assailant who ran away after seeing police officers. Police Officers on
patrol see the incident and chase the suspect who was eventually arrested.
The suspect was brought to the police station for documentation. He
claimed that it was Remy Mariano who stole the bag from him. Remy denied
this and stated his disinterest in filing a case.
INSTRUCTION FOR THE ROLE PLAYERS: (TRAINERS NOTE: Instruction
for each player should be given separately)
Police Officers:
Patrol Officers
You and your partner are on beat patrol and as you turn the corner of
the street you see what appears to be a woman grappling with a man for
possession of a bag. The man runs away after seeing you and you give
chase. Once apprehended you bring the man to the station to the station
together with the woman.
Desk Officer
A man in handcuffs was brought to the Police Station where you
are assigned as Desk Officer.
Suspect
You are to snatch the bag of a transgender walking alone, but the
victim resists. You see police officers coming your way so you run away
instead. The police officers give chase and you are caught. You will insist
that the transgender stole your bag and you are just trying to get it back.
Victim
You are a transgender walking alone on your way home after a night
out with friends. Your bag is grabbed by a snatcher, but you resist and fight.
Responding police officers give chase to the snatcher who is caught and
eventually brought to the police station. You are also invited to the station to
give a statement but you declare that you are not interested in filing a case.
At the Police Station, the suspect insists he is only trying to get from you the
bag which is his and it was you who originally stole it.

Note: All Police Trainees should rotate in the roles that they will play and if
possible, they must wear appropriate costumes for the roles they will play.
