Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Greetings of peace,
At the 11:15 Sunday Mass this weekend, the friars at the Shrine welcome a group from St.
Bonaventure University in Western NY. From the University website
Founded in 1858 in the interest of promoting Catholic-Franciscan education, the University continues to this
day to pursue academic excellence through personalized attention that reflects the Franciscan tradition of
valuing human relationships. We instill in students a real passion for learning and living. We encourage
independent study, critical analysis and original expression. Our professors are committed and approachable
faculty who dedicate themselves to making connections among themselves, their courses and, most
importantly, their students.

Many of the friars at Arch Street have connections to this great University where people
make lifelong friends. Their website is www.sbu.edu
Many thanks to all of you who contributed in one way or another to our inaugural gala on
Thursday. So far, that event has raised $680,000. Special thanks to our gala committee
and the gala sponsors.
Finally, we are looking to form a small team (three or four people) to work on the creative
design aspect of decorating the first and second floor churches. Fr. Joe has done a terrific
job with this up until now and would now prefer to play a lesser role in this process. If you
are interested in being on this committee, please contact me
at tconway@stanthonyshrine.org or 617-426-0623. Thank you.
Have a great week!
