Most of us have some form of a financial strategy for our future.
Many have a career strategy. We have an educational strategy for
our children; perhaps even a health strategy in effort to achieve a
goal or solution to a problem.
Wars are not won without a carefully thought out strategy before
entering the battle. I wonder how different our lives would be;
how different our families would be; how different our
workplaces, schools, neighborhoods and city would be if we
became STRATEGIC in our communication with our unlimited,
almighty, all powerful, all knowing Commander in Chief!
Prayer is our connection to the heart of God; to discerning His will
and strategically partnering with Him to accomplish His will here
on earth as it is in heaven.
Billy Graham said, Heaven is full of answers to prayer for which
no one bothered to ask.

Develop a PRAYER STRATEGY:

WHERE: Jesus said, When you pray, go into your room, close the
door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your
Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward
you. (Matt. 6:6 NIV) Find your room - a private place
with no distractions, where God has your undivided
attention.
WHEN:

Plan a set time. A time when you are at your best, the
most alert and not rushed. Doesnt God deserve your
best attention? Mornings are a good time, in order to
be better prepared for the challenges, unseen battles,
and opportunities the day might bring. The Psalmist
said, O God, You are my God; Early will I seek you. (Ps.
63:1)

WHO/WHAT: Plan a daily prayer calendar that includes each

family member, church members, friends,
neighbors, co-workers/students, leaders (civic &
church), missionaries and ministries that God
would have you partner with in prayer. Divide your
list up by 30 days and pray for a few each day.
Be specific, strategic. Strategic goals are
measurable. Just praying for God to bless your
children is not easily measured, but praying for
them to grow in their desire for God can be
measured & celebrated when theyre found
reading His Word, never wanting to miss church,
volunteering to serve, etc. Listen and let God
reveal His heart for each person and situation; that
you might partner with Him in His will being done.
Romans 8:26 tells us We do not know what we
ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes
for us with groans that words cannot express.
WRITE down goals and answers to prayer!

Begin your prayer time with worship and thank God for people and things you
may have taken for granted. Repent of any way you may have disobeyed or
displeased God and listen for His guidance. Pray for your own spiritual growth
and deeper connection with God. Then pray for each person/need and
meditate, listening to what God wants to reveal to you and the action Hes
calling you to.
