Meaning:

Biodiversity: the variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem.


Biotechnology: the exploitation of biological processes for industrial and other
purposes, especially the genetic manipulation of microorganisms for the production of
antibiotics, hormones, etc.

Deport: To expel from a country: deported the foreigner who had entered the
country illegally. 2. To behave or conduct (oneself) in a given manner; comport.
Geneva Convention: The Geneva Conventions are a series of treaties, between

Tariff: A tax imposed on imported goods and services. Tariffs are used to
restrict trade, as they increase the price of imported goods and services, making
them more expensive to consumers. A specific tariff is levied as a fixed fee based
on the type of item (e.g., $1,000 on any car).

Peacekeeping: the active maintenance of a truce between nations or communities,


especially by an international military force

Peacemaking: is practical conflict transformation focused upon establishing


equitable power relationships robust enough to forestall future conflict, often
including the establishment of means of agreeing on ethical decisions within a
community, or among parties, that had previously engaged in inappropriate
Peace Enforcement: Peace enforcement refers to the use of military assets to
enforce a peace against the will of the parties to a conflict when, for instance, a
ceasefire has failed. Peace enforcement often exceeds the capacity of
peacekeeping forces and is thus better executed by more heavily armed forces.
