The political factor has a huge influence or impact in the operation of a business
and in order to start a business or firm, the business-maker should know the laws,
rules and regulations required by the government agencies applicable in their
choice of business.
For Vinegar industry, Department of Healths Food and Drug Administration
formulates, promulgates and mandates the rules, regulations and standards for the
production and distribution of product in the market. The agency ensures the
companys compliance to its standards of quality and health rules to safeguard the
consumers of product. Some laws that should be considered includes the
declaration in the label the name and address of manufacturer, packer and
distributor of the food, presentation of the products name ad true nature is clear,
bold type letters in most noticeable print, complete list of ingredients except that
when a food product is covered by a Food Standard, only the optional ingredients
shall be declared unless otherwise required by such regulation. Proper storage
condition other than normal room temperature are also to be printed clearly and
permanently on all product label or labeling. The expiry or expiration date, use-bydate, consume before date shall be printed clearly and legibly on all product labels
in the following order: day, month and then the year it was produce. The lot
identification code shall be imprinted or otherwise permanently marked on
immediate individual packages or containers.
Aside from said earlier, the Congress of the Philippines also created Republic Act No.
9003 also known as Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 which ensures
the protection of public health and environment. It is also a set of guidelines and
targets for solid waste avoidance and volume reduction waste minimization
measures, including composing, recycling, re-use, recovery, treatment and disposal
in appropriate and environmentally solid waste management facilities in accordance
with ecologically sustainable development principles. Lastly, the proper segregation,
collection, transport, storage, treatment and disposal of solid waste through the
formulation and adoption of the best environmental practices in ecological waste
management excluding incineration should be observed and practiced.
These laws are needed for the protection of both manufacturers and consumers
long-run interests.
