TWIN-CENTER-Update V2.000
New, and likewise, altered functions of the TWIN-CENTER-Software
V2.000
Alterations to the perviosu versions V1.000 and Update V1.100
Set out below, you will find the features of the upgrade V2.000 for the TWIN-CENTER.
There are several alterations / extensions in its functionality which will enhance the the
operational value of the TWIN-CENTER as well as simplifying the operations.
Find-Loco-Function
Using this function, the address of any loco standing on the programming track with an
unknown address will be automatically called up and allocated for use to one of either
control knobs.
In searching for the address, both the dcc format and the FMZ format will be used.
The function can be started by pressing one of the control knobs followed by pressing
the keys
[lok] und [], []
(the previous function of this sequence of keys has been changed).
The search will start straight away. The TWIN-CENTER will search for dcc addresses first
of all. If none are found, then FMZ addresses will be searched for. In searching for dcc
addresses, both short and long addresses will be looked for.
On top of that, once an address has been located, then the speed steps setting will be
recognised as well. The control knob of the TWIN-CENTER will be automatically set as
found.
The loco can now be run straight way on the selected control knob.
If an address is found which already exists in the system, then the loco will not automatically be allocated to the control knob, but it will recommend that the address is changed.
If a new address is input, then this will be programmed into the loco.
Attention: It will not be checked if this new address is already in the system. The operator
must be aware of this himself.
If an address is found which already exists, albeit with different speed settings, then it will
be treated as though the address is unrecognised and not allocated to a control knob.
Long addresses in the area from 128 to 9999 will be recognised. If the decoder has been
set to a long address, according to CV29 Bit 5, and the number found is in the area from
0 to 127 however, the operation will be reset to the shorter address and shown in the display (CV1).
The use of the short address will also be altered accordingly in CV29 Bit 5.
If an address larger than 9999 is located, which cannot be controlled using the TWINCENTER, then the following message will be displayed wrong Addr/Protocol
If no loco is recognised on the programming track, then use the key [menu] to exit the
procedure.
If the addresses for the table mode were previously stored in the special options 871 to
878, then the addresses will now be shared out to 2 special options, which are always
programmed in pairs. Besides the special options 871 to 878, the special options 851 to
858 will also be used.
Extending Loco-Functions
Using the original operating software, V 1.1000, the TWIN-CENTER can operate 8 special functions of the locos using keys f1 f8. The number of switchable functions has now
been considerably extended to f32767.
There are two different mthods to switch the special functions:
Method A for functions f1 to f12:
Functions f1 to f4 as previosuly, unaltered.
Functions f5 to f8 as previoulsly, or alternatively: f5 = [lok] [off] [f1] etc.
Functions f9 to f12 similarly: f9 = [lok] [function] [f1] etc.
Methode B for all functions f0 to f32767
Sevreral functions from f0 to f32767 (testable to f9999) can now be caled up by their relevant numbers. First of all, press the loco key twice [lok#] and then after the display F
enter the number of the special function.
After inputting the display will show:
[]: display of the function situation, however only functions f1 to f28;
[+]: Turning the function on;
[]: Turning the function off.
Attention: the previous function, after pressing the loco key twice [Lok#] to return to the
old loco address can now be operated by using [Lok#] and [].
Using the special option 843, the function display can be set to show in steps of 100ms
beore the unit automatically switches it off. Factory setting 100 gives 10s display time.
The indication in the central section of the display shows the last TRAIN-NAVIGATIONDecoder. If no decoder is selected , then the display shows neutral (as above).
After operating the key [menu] the address of a TRAIN-NAVIGATION-Decoders 6833 is
put in. If this decoder is available and has been allocated its operational function, (a loco
has run over it) then the display will show the indication in the first column the last condition, ie: L-1 and in the second column the address of the last vehicle read.
Lok# |L-1| lok#
?|..47|
In our example above, the address is 47, an arow Pfeil or indicates the running direction. The 1 at the end of the first column shows the recognised category, so the numbers 2, 3 or 4 may show up here.
If the selected decoder is not on the layout, or no result has been allocated, then the display will be empty.
Attention: if a loco runs over the currently displayed decoder, then the indication will not
be refreshed. This can be done by pressing [menu] and [] or calling up the mode again
or similarly the decoder.
