Faith in the Lord

Faith. What does it mean? Why do we need it in our lives? Where can I find it?
To me, the best meaning of faith is found in Hebrews 11:1. It says, Now faith is
confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Having
faith in the Lord means to rely on Him. To trust, believe, and love Him with all our
heart, soul, and mind. This also means to follow and obey His words.
Some may say that God does not exist. However, I believe the opposite. I
believe that God exist. I believe that He is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I
believe that he listens to my prayers, and I believe that he always answers them.
Many times before, as I am worshipping the Lord and singing praises to Him, I felt
Him holding my shoulders, lifting my burdens, and telling me that everything will be
alright. It was a feeling that could not be expressed by words. It was like a dream of
having all of my worries taken away from me and thrown away. Another time, I
prayed to the Lord, asking Him to heal my sick friend who had been absent from
school for days. I asked Him to heal her and help her gain the strength to go to
school. The next day at lunch time, she came to school. She looked healthy and was
able to understand the lessons well and I thank the Lord, because I believe that He
answered my prayer.
During my holiday in Korea, I was confused about some choices that I had to
make. So I asked the Lord about what I should do. I prayed to him and asked Him
about my first and second choices. I prayed that if His answer is the first choice,
then please make it sunny tomorrow. Otherwise, If His answer is the second choice,
then please let it rain tomorrow. Reading this, you, readers, may think that it may
stupid or an immature thing to do. However, I believe and have faith in the Lord.
The next day, it rained heavily and the following day, I met a Singaporean tourist
who was staying in the same hotel. He mentioned that he had been in Korea since
last week, and it was the first time it ever rained since his stay.
A problem for most believers would be when we feel that God is far away.
Some of us may feel like He is hiding somewhere and we start to feel a little lost. I
believe that a way to comfort ourselves would be to read the Bible. Not only is the
Bible inspired by God, but it is also the WORD OF GOD. I believe that everything
written in the Bible is true. Therefore by reading His words, we should believe in all
of His promises that are written in the Bible. Isaiah 41:10 states one out of more
than 3000 of Gods promises, Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am
your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My
righteous right hand. Reading it gives me comfort since I believe it is true, because
in Psalm 89:34 it says, No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back one
word of what I said." Therefore, all of His promises in the Bible will be kept and will
never be broken.

If one promise from the Bible, is able to change a person, then imagine how
much all of the promises in the Bible would be able to change each and every one
of us. I believe that even a few of these promises will be able to fix a problem or an
aspect in our lives. God has promises to us and will never break his promises.
Matthew 21:22 says, And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will
receive. Being a Christian may not be an easy road, however, we should all believe
that each and every one of us can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
For it is stated in Mark 11:22, Jesus answered and said to His apostles, Have faith in
God.
