Essay 2: Draft 1
Humans are limited to five senses which provide a well-rounded perception of the world.
The brain is what takes into account all of the information collected in the environment and
challenges ideas by reasoning, questioning, and forming opinions. These views and beliefs can
cause conflict amongst people of opposing views or appease a portion of the population that
shares a similar idea. Every day, people of diverse cultures and beliefs work together to resolve
issues around the globe and make crucial decisions within the nations. Although many opinions
and beliefs exist that conform to majority of society, people are able to create a composite
reality where everyone interacts productively together in an environment and complete a task
such as a research project with one another to ultimately find a result that affects the world in
various ways.
In America, for example, there are two ways to belongwith legal papers and proof of
documentation for a stable residence or citizenship, and to fit in with society that controls most
of the ways people live in the U.S. As long as Bharati and her sister had a green card, they would
be somewhat accepted in the nation but not by society. Even though they were legally qualified
and received education to have appropriate credentials for their career, it never seemed enough
(Mukherjee, Two Ways to Belong in America). Peoples opinions sway beliefs and contribute
to stereotypes and other forms of discrimination which stem from various perceptions of the

world, morality, standards, and expectations. Everything that the governments enforce and the
people believe affects global views on certain issues.
In recent studies regarding personal beliefs that negatively or positively affect people,
researchers found that Prior work suggests that variations in self-imagery can influence the
emotional interpretations people make about social situationsinducing an inferential bias can
change the content of self-related imagesduring subsequent experience with ambiguous social
situations(Hirsch, Inducing an Interpretation). Depending on the situation people are put in,
their opinions will change and have a negative affect when having to work with others to
communicate and interpret fairly.
The workforce, focusing on projects and collaborations, still faces challenges that not
only limit their perception but prevent people from productively working together. People were
asked to identify the most serious challenge in their field and responded that its, the response
of global importance and difficulty of this challenge, researchers and managers have long sought
to provide advice on this potential impediment to international business by focusing largely on
ways to reduce "noise" in various global communication channels (Nardon Seeking Common).
Properly and effectively communicating is always going to be an issue because everyones
perception is different and rate of understanding fluctuates amongst others. Large businesses and
corporations are responsible for their contributions to society; it doesnt matter how advanced the
corporation or project is, challenges will make the process more difficult but not impossible.
Unfortunately, an example of miscommunication is the rocket that NASA had built a few years
ago incorporating the work of scientists across the nation, but failed to convert the units which
ended in an explosion that wasted millions of dollars simply because of an error within the
massive project.

Apollo Robbins entertained an audience for TED Talks about The Art of Misdirection.
In the videoit shows how focusing on one ideal too much, limits exploration and expansion of
knowledge and awareness. Paying attention to the lesser important things than equally balancing
issues that need to be resolved obscures our vision and moves away from the central focus of the
environment. Its simple con-artistry behavior, but shows how the senses can deceive us if its
not properly focused in the right places.
Many successful people in the workforce that participate in projects and research find
that their attitude towards life will bring happiness. These researchers will face having to work in
the darkness symbolically and/or physically until the goals of the work are achieved. A lot of
times, there is a lack of support or belief in an idea, but the individuals persistence can result in
success. The research and group projects of todays world can relate to Sisyphus reaction to the
supposed punishment, There is no sun without the shadow, and it is essential to know the night.
The absurd man says yes and his efforts will henceforth be unceasing (Camu, The Myth of
Sisyphus). The environment of work may not be the most desirable one, but working with what
is given and being appreciative of what currently exists creates a powerful mindset.
All day and night, Sisyphus rolls the rock up the hill until it falls and repeats this cycle.
He views life in more ways than one linear destination, and finds happiness within the
uncomfortable fate hes forced to live with. He doesnt need to search for happiness or light, he is
perfectly fine with the darkness and continues to have satisfaction in his life that the gods
thought of as punishment. His efforts will be unceasing since his absurd heroic behavior is
optimistic no matter the circumstances.
After every cycle of moving the rock, the narrator says that, I leave Sisyphus at the foot of the
mountain! One always finds one's burden again.... One must imagine Sisyphus happy (Camu,

The Myth of Sisyphus). He gains satisfaction every time the rock rolls to the foot of the
mountain and he follows after it to continue the cycle. People will argue that the satisfaction he
gains is from something meaningless, but Camu believes it is the opposite. He has the ability to
determine his own fate and how he chooses to perceive the things in his life. This attitude is
extremely beneficial when scientists and others come together to produce an outcome that
improves peoples lives.
Researchers and others in projects work on failures and inaccuracies without viewing it
as punishment, but a reward that in the end, people and science could benefit from data collected
from new discoveries. Failures arent obstacles; theyre more of stepping stones that brings them
one step closer to getting the right results and possibly discovering something revolutionary.
