If the Scotties can avenge
an opening season 12-7
loss to Colstrip, theyll play
the winner of the Missoula
Loyala/Baker contest. If the
Spartans can knock off the
Rams, the Scotties will host
another home game. If the
Rams should win, its a long
trip to Missoula.
The Scotties are 6-2
overall with their more
impressive
wins
over
Glendive (22-20) and Malta
(34-33).
Colstrip (8-1 overall,
286 points for, 110 points
against) has definitely played
a tougher schedule coming
from the 3B including
victories over Forsyth (1810), Shepherd (32-16) and
Baker (13-12) this past
Friday night. The Colts only
setback is to top-ranked
Huntley Project (26-18).
The fact that Baker lost
to Huntley Project 29-28 in
overtime and Forsyth lost to
the Red Devils 7-0 shows just
how stacked the District 3B
really is; the Doggies didnt
even make the playoffs, also
losing to Colstrip and Baker.

Not too shabby for his first bull

15-year-old Dominik Zimdars wasted no time in getting

his first-ever elk tag filled this season. Hunting with his
grandpa Neil Chouinard and Uncle Brian Chouinard in
HD 631 near the Burke Ranch, Dominik spotted the 6x6
bull Friday evening just before sundown and picked it up
again in the wee daylight hours Opening Day (Saturday
morning). A single shot from the 300 Winchester Mag
from 125 yards away dropped the bull in his tracks. We

had it loaded in the pickup and back to town in no time,

Grandpa Neil said, which went about the same for his
son Brians bull on September 18th during bow hunting
season. I kinda figured Id get one, Dominik said,
noting, My grandpa and my uncle both love to hunt and
theyre good at it. So when you see Dominik packing
your groceries at Reynolds (or trying to sell you a pizza
or pack of bologna) congratulate him on a job well done.
