Reflection on Resource
Mrs Wishy Washy is good for children as its a repetitive, easy to follow text and
supportive pictures make it a perfect choice for beginning readers.
Reflection on Teaching
Lesson didnt go for long enough
Lesson wasnt challenging enough
Needed to better engage children for the reading
As this lesson was my first in this class I was definitely not feeling very confident in
my teaching strategies. The lesson was not as successful as I would have liked as it
did not go for long enough therefore the children were left with nothing to do to
further extend on the activity as I had not considered this option properly so had not
thought of strategies to counteract this possibility. I also felt that the lesson could have
been much more challenging; I should have been better prepared to cater for the wide
developmental abilities in the room.
Needed to engage the children better at the beginning of the lesson and ensure that
children were showing their 5Ls.
Next time I need to have many more teaching and behavioural management strategies
available to me to create more effective and flexible lessons.
