2. Arts and Crafts: An arts and crafts center sound be found in classes of
every age. If children no longer have art and crafts center they should
have access to an art class in order to still get the benefits out of art. In
an art class or center you should be able to find things such as paints,
colors, scissors, and stencils. Arts and crafts are imperative, because it
gives children the ability to expresses them creative, and for a lot of
students art time is learning, but it is also a brain break. Something
that these students have to focus as hard in.
6. Nature and Science: A nature and Science center are not required to be
in a class, but they tend to be well liked by kids. In a science center
they can perform science experiments or make cool projects like
tornado soda bottles. This center does really well placed next to a
window, because a lot of science includes nature and weather, which is
a part of nature. From the window view this center already becomes a
more interactive place for the kids to go. In a science center the
students can find things like a thermometer, or stuff to feel fake snow.
This center can be a really good way to develop fine motor and
cognitive skills.
how to use their little hands in order to grasp things. In this center
there should be a wide ranger of puzzle varying in difficulty level
because some kids are on different steps in puzzle solving. As well as
there should be a far amount of different types of block shapes and
sizes. Building is no fun if everything is the same shape and size.
Provided the students a selection so they can expand their creative
horizons.
8. Music: A final center that is problem one for the most difficult is music.
We all love music and singing and dancing, but sometimes it is hard to
incorporate into a classroom when it can get extremely loud. My
suggestion for music is to have a center for it in the class and use it to
be and open center as a reward, other then that on a daily basis use
music as a group exercise maybe during circle time. Music is much like
a physical are and once it is no longer a center kids still go to a music
class. Once again his helps their social and creative skills. If you choose
to make music a center I would suggest using quieter instruments such
as rain stick and maybe a small tamerbine. Putting a drum set in your
music section would not be brightest idea. This is such a fun center I
would for sure keep it in the classroom if possible even if it is just as a
group.
