AP English 12
Period 3
When doing this senior project it will be necessary to be able to teach financial
analysis, edit videos, and utilize online marketing. Since it will consist of youtube
content with social media platforms helping increasing viewerships and thus leads,
there is a necessity to have a keen understanding of recording video as well as editing
to make it pleasurable to view. In the videos there will be the teaching of the basics of
stocks and delve into fundamental analysis, which is comprised of valuing a company
off of its financials, management, and market(Graham). Most of the videos will most
likely be about technical analysis, which is the trading of stock based on price trends
rather than the companys inner machinations(Murphy).
Knowledge on on the use of OBS(Open Broadcasting Software) for recording and
streaming is also imperative, as it will be used for the visuals of the content that will be
produced to teach. The use of music will be on no copyright grounds as to avoid any
altercations in regards to legality and to make sure that there are no hindrances in my
creation of this channel. The program of choice for video eiting will be Vegas Pro and
optimization for the highest retention of those in interest will be utilized by using specific
timed transitions to retain viewers(Pradiptarini).
The fundamental analysis of stocks will be taught through some sort of slideshow
platform that will explain through diagrams and/or real life spreadsheets of discounting
cash flows with explanations. The different parts of the company will involve using a
checklist as a guide that will be used to generalize how efficient a company is

running(Graham). The videos also will teach technical analysis to educate the viewer on
both sides of the spectrum as well as give them a decision on which side they believe in
because analysts decide on a trading/investing style that they believe as the most
viable. Data shows however that technical analysis is more often correct in predicting
stock fluctuations than fundamental analysis(Murphy).
What will be a variable of success for the senior project will be how well the videos are
marketed on social media, which has been the core of many new companies as well as
a catalyst for high growth to older companies in recent years(Pradiptarini). The project
will have to utilize what has been learned in class about rhetorical analysis to persuade
others to click as well as take the time to view the content that has been created, so
content creation must be key in growing this business. As content on the internet allows
for a completely different way to provide value with potential customers and develop
credibility at a scale like no other(Pradiptarini), there must be knowledge on business
development to create key relationships with influencers as well as person to person
persuasion to develop a small following in the beginning. The project can use feedback
from the initial momentum to improve the channel before it is exposed to a wider array,
increasing the likelihood that it will succeed in this environment(Pradiptarini). While a lot
of companies seem to be utilizing a content marketing campaign, there is still a lot of
companies that are dark and dont use this type of campaign to their advantage,
allowing me to have another higher likelihood of succeeding(Pradiptarini). The most
effective way is to provide value up front without asking for the sale, because that time
can be developed establishing trust as well as building your brand(Pradiptarini).
