Cases for ISP KSS project

1. Service parameters

2. Operations with subscription
2.1 To buy a subscription license
Scenario. The subscriber informs ISP about his/her intention to order Kaspersky Internet Security
subscription through its personal web account on ISP web portal.

2.2 Date/time in commands


Activate: start date equal to the date of subscription purchase (no end date because subscription is
open-ended);
Soft-Cancel (Date/time since which the subscription must be soft-cancelled): End Time is equal to the
last day of subscription maintenance inclusive;
Renew (New date/time of subscription expiry. After subscription soft-cancellation): indefinite (because
subscription is open-ended);
HardCancel (Date/time of subscription hard cancel): last day of subscription maintenance inclusive.
Pause (Date/time of subscription pause): End Time is equal to the last day of subscription inclusive;
Resume (Date/time of subscription resumption): current date
3. Operations with subscription
3.1 Trial period
Trial period will be provided by ISP to its subscribers.
The duration will be the rest of the current month plus the next month fully starting from the order
subscription day.

3.2 Migration from trial to commercial subscription


After the trial period is over the chargeable period is started.
If a user wishes to continue use of the subscription he/she will be charged on a monthly basis.

3.3 Subscription renewal


A Renew command can be sent at any time for the subscription that was previously soft-cancelled.
Subscription renewal starts since the command will be processed in KSS (since the current period). The
period when a Renew command has come is chargeable.

3.4 Subscription hard-cancellation


The HardCancel command is used to discontinue subscription on the Subscribers initiative.
Subscription hard-cancellation (time specified in a HardCancel command) will be started since the
beginning of the next billing period, i.e. since the first day of the next calendar month. So a HardCancel
command should have an End Time parameter dated to the last day of the current calendar month (last
day of the subscription in the Active status).

3.5 Subscription re-Activation


The Activate command will be used to re-activate subscription after it has been hard-cancelled.
To re-activate previously hard-cancelled subscription ISP should send an Activate command with the
same SubscriberID that was used to activate the subscription initially.
