Subject: Basic Principles of Engineering Mechanics
Credit: 3 credit points
3. Course Description
Analysis of forces, equilibrium, application of equilibrium equations to frames and machines, dry
friction, introduction to center of gravity, centroid and moment of inertia, kinematics and kinetics of
particles and rigid bodies in plane, and Newtons laws of
motion.

1. To understand concepts of forces and equilibrium

4. To understand concepts of center of gravity, centroid and moment of inertia
5. To understand concepts of kinematics and kinetics of particles and rigid bodies
(kinetics will apply Newtons Second Law.)

9. Grading
From 100-percent of mark, mean of students grade for class will be in the range of 2.2
to 2.4. However, student will get Fail grade if he/she missed the midterm or the final
examinations.
