SEATTLE MARINERS WINTER LEAGUE UPDATE

STARS AMONG US: The Arizona Fall Leagues 11th annual Fall Stars Game presented by Bowman Baseball Cards will be played at
5:08 p.m. AZ (8:08 p.m. ET) this Saturday, November 5 at Surprise Stadium. Scouting and farm directors from every Major League
organization, in consultation with Arizona Fall League Director Steve Cobb and his baseball personnel staff, selected the players for the
annual showcase that pits top prospects from the Fall Leagues East Division and West Division clubs. Each Major League organization
is offered the opportunity to be represented by at least one player. The East Division roster fields players from the Mesa Solar Sox
(Athletics, Blue Jays, Cubs, Indians Marlins), Salt River Rafters (Braves, Brewers, D-backs, Rockies, Tigers) and defending champion
Scottsdale Scorpions (Angels, Giants, Mets, Phillies, Yankees). The West Division roster is stocked by the Glendale Desert Dogs
(Astros, Cardinals, Dodgers, Nationals, White Sox), Peoria Javelinas (Orioles, Padres, Mariners, Rays, Reds), and Surprise Saguaros
(Pirates, Rangers, Red Sox, Royals, Twins). OF Tyler ONeill, 21, will represent the Mariners on the West Division team. ONeill has hit
safely in 11 of 12 games with the Javelinas in the AFL, including a current 5-game hit streak (.500/10x20, 2 R, 2 RBI, BB). Overall he is
batting .346 (18x52) with 10 runs scored, 4 doubles, 3 home runs, 9 RBI, 3 walks and 1 stolen base. ONeill currently leads the AFL in
hits (18) and total bases (31), while also ranking T1st in extra-base hits (7) and home runs (3), 3rd in slugging percentage (.596), 4th in
at-bats (52) and 9th in average (.346).
AFL ROUNDUP: OF Guillermo Heredia has hit safely in 4 of 5 games with the Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League, batting .412
(7x17) with 5 runs scored, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 4 RBI and 4 walks. C Tyler Marlette has hit safely in 6 of 8 games with 4
multi-hit contests with the Javelinas. Overall he is batting .333 (10x30) with 7 runs scored, 2 doubles, 2 home runs, 8 RBI and 2 walks
in 8 games. RHP Dylan Unsworth is 2-0 with a 2.00 ERA (2 ER, 9.0 IP) in 3 starts with the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall
League. He was limited opponents to a .265 (9x34) average, while walking 1 and string out 6. Prior to his starts on Oct. 15 wit hteh
Javelinas, he had not pitched in a game since June 7 vs. Pensacola with AA Jackson. Unsworth was limited to only 9 starts with
Jackson after being placed on the disabled list May 21-June 4 and June 8-end of the season with a left hamstring strain. He was named
to the Southern League All-Star team, going 3-1 with a 1.16 ERA (6 ER, 46.2 IP) in 9 starts with the Generals before his injury. LHP
Luiz Gohara is 1-0 with a 4.66 ERA (5 ER, 9.2 IP) in 7 relief apperances with Peoria. He has limited opponents to a .316 (12x38)
average, while walking 2 and striking out 16. RHP Thyago Vieira is 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA (2 ER, 5.1 IP) in 5 relief appearances with the
Javelinas. He has limited opponents to a .211 (4x19) average, while walking 1 and striking out 7. After allowing 4 runs in his first
appearance on Oct. 11 at Salt River, RHP Emilio Pagan has held opponents scoreless in 4 of his last 5 outings (2 ER, 6.0 IP).
ITS A BOOG THING: OF Boog Powell has hit safely in 7 of 10 games with 5 multi-hit contests with Aguilas Cibaenas in the
Dominican Winter League. Overall Powell is batting .342 (13x38) with 6 runs scored, 1 triple, 3 RBI, 5 walks and 1 stolen base in 10
games.
LETS GO STREAKING: RHP Forest Snow has tossed 10.0 scoreless innings over his first 2 starts with Aguilas Cibaenas in the
Dominican Winter League. He has limited opponents to a 0.94 (3x32) average, while walking 5 and striking out 9 over 2 starts.
AROUND THE WORLD: RHP Kevin Gadea is 1-0 with a 2.03 ERA (3 ER, 13.1 IP) in 3 starts with the Tigres de Aragua in the
Venezuelan Winter League. He has limited opponents to a .167 (8x48), while walking 6 and striking out 10. SS Benji Gonzalez has
appeared in 3 games with Indios de Mayaguez in the Puerto Rican Winter League, batting .455 (5x11) with 3 runs scored, 2 dubles, 2 RBI
and 2 walks. LHP Paul Fry earned the win in his first appearance with Indios de Mayaguez on Oct. 28 at Aguadilla. He allowed an
inherited runner to score, but recorded the final out in the bottom of the 7th inning to pick up the win. RHP Mayckol Guaipe has allowed
only 1 hit over 2.0 scoreless innings with Caribes de Anzoategui in the Venzuelan Winter
