1. El universo, el sistema solar y la Tierra
El universo est formado por astros o cuerpos

celestes (estrellas,

planetas, satlites, asteroides...), por materia interestelar (polvo y gas) y

por el espacio que los separa.

Se agrupan formando galaxias o acumulaciones de estrellas como la Va

Lctea, donde se encuentra la Tierra. Cada galaxia puede contener miles

de millones de estrellas y muchos sistemas planetarios que estn
formados por una estrella y los cuerpos celestes que giran alrededor de
ella.

El Sistema Solar es el sistema planetario al que pertenece la Tierra. Lo

forma el Sol que es una estrella de tamao medio, ocho planetas y

numerosos satlites, asteroides y cometas. La Luna es el nico satlite de
la Tierra.

1.The universe, the solar system and the Earth

The universe is formed out of stars and celestial

bodies, interstellar

matter (dust and gas) and the space that separates them.

Celestial bodies are grouped together in the form of galaxies or groups

of stars and planetary systems. These planetary systems consist of a
star and celestial bodies that revolve around the star, planets, satellites,
comets and asteroids.

The Solar system is the planetary system to wich the Earth belongs. It
includes the Sun, eight planets and numerous satellites.
