DNV GL provides technical consulting services worldwide to renewable energy project developers, technology
designers and financiers accelerating the transition to a safer and more sustainable future.
Our Turbine Testing team delivers high quality analysis to wind farm owners, wind turbine manufacturers and
clean energy investors to ensure that wind turbines perform to expectations. We are engineers, scientists and
businesspeople dedicated to the success of the wind energy industry. We verify through measurements that
wind turbines will perform in line with expectations upon commissioning and throughout their designed service
life.
The Candidate We Seek
You want to manage projects for top wind turbine manufacturers and a diverse array of wind project
developers and owners. You want to work in a congenial, collaborative office environment and travel (~30%)
to wind farms across the continent and enjoy the view from atop wind turbine nacelles. You want to apply

You have hands on experience with design, configuration, and maintenance of data acquisition systems. You
enjoy both technical engineering challenges and client-facing project management. You are a trained engineer

Primary Responsibilities at Office (~70%):
Project management of wind turbine measurements (scope, schedule, costs)
Test planning including contract review, technical analysis and documentation
Measurement equipment specification, procurement, preparation, documentation
Data monitoring and analysis to international standards and internal best practices
Technical report writing, critical reviewing and professional presentation to clients
Primary Responsibilities at Wind Farms (~30%):
Inspection, verification and commissioning of as-built measurement systems to designed plans
Climbing wind turbines and meteorological masts applying safety policies and training
Installation and calibration of measurement systems
Troubleshooting data acquisition systems and sensors
Additional Tasks May Include:
Power performance, acoustic noise, power quality, or solar resource measurements
Subcontractor management for sensor or meteorological mast installations
Business development through strong client relationships, lead generation and proposal writing
Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and best practices across DNV GL units
Aid in continuous improvement by developing safety, quality, analysis, and other processes
Position Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or other relevant discipline
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or other relevant discipline
Previous work experience with a wind turbine manufacturer or project developer
Previous work experience in renewable energy, consulting, project management
Familiarity with various meteorological, mechanical and electrical measurement systems and sensors including
strain, torsion, stiffness, power, vibration, acoustic, displacement and telemetry systems
MATLAB or IMC FAMOS programming experience
Hands-on experience with Campbell Scientific, NRG, or IMC hardware and software
Physical abilities necessary to perform regular functions of the job:
Normal office environment, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs., regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting,
standing and reaching
Travel to other company office locations, project site locations, client offices, and conferences
Occasional work outdoors in harsh conditions including but not limited to climbing stairs and ladders to ascend
wind turbines or masts
Traveling by car up to six hours and walking on uneven terrain
Must be able to work in confined spaces
Ability to work extended hours as needed to meet deadlines and business needs
