they must place themselves in the shoes of a
Syrian refugee

of a powerpoint, different videos, students can
answer questions, think critically, and make
connections to the current refugee crisis.

- Students watch a video that shows what would
happen if the Syrian crisis happened in Canada
- Talk about video with students
- What happened? Can you relate to the little girl
in the video?

Step 2: Write journal entry


- Using what you have learned in class, write a journal that
assumes you are a Syrian teenager forced to leave your
country.
- Journal entries need to include personal information,
describe what happened, and push and pull factors
