Job Description

FINTEC recruit is seeking a Welding Engineer for our client in the Oil & Gas pipeline fabrication
industry.
The Welding Engineer is a permanent position based in Houston, Texas. Salary is competitive
plus an excellent benefits package.
Responsibilities
Develop welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems
involving fabrication of metals, utilizing: knowledge of production specifications, properties and
characteristics of metals and metal alloys and engineering principles.
Responsible for reviewing customer specifications, applicable welding codes and standards for
the development of a welding procedure matrix and a mechanical test matrix for the
Estimating department.
Evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials in welding field for possible application to
current welding problems or production processes.
Schedule and lead the development of all proposed welding procedure specifications and repair
procedure specifications in accordance with all contract documents, applicable industry
standards and all applicable welding codes.
Compose welding test matrix and mechanical test matrix for Estimating department.
Interface with internal and external clients using schedules, method statements and action
plans.
Review all data provided by QC to assure all welding data is in compliance with all welding
procedure specifications.
Responsible for all mechanical testing for welding procedure qualifications.
Witness and review all mechanical testing results, specifications, welding codes and standards
to assure compliance and completion of all qualifications records.
Health and Safety practices all the times.
Conduct R&D investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures.
Qualifications and experience
Bachelors degree in Welding Engineering or relevant discipline.
2 - 5 years of experience as a Welding Engineer in the Oil, Gas and pipeline industry.
Experience in offshore equipment and knowledge or API standards would be an advantage.
Requirements
Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent English language skills
Ability to interface effectively with various levels of management, clients, and other parts of
the organization
Strong team-player with excellent reporting and interpersonal skills
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Customer service oriented with internal and external customers
IT literate - Microsoft Office software
Ability to work long hours when needed
Position may require domestic and international travel
