Village Idiot Percent Night: On February 18, 2015

Zeta Tau Alpha hosted a percent night at Village Idiot
from 4pm-12pm. We collected a total of $465.00 to
give to Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. To
liven up the night, we offered a variety of giveaways
to our members and other fraternity and sororities that
came or donated. The giveaway prizes consisted of
different gift cards from food and clothing stores in
the Columbia area. Overall, this event was a great
success and we enjoyed partnering with Village Idiot
to help benefit Breast Cancer Education & Awareness.
Crown Classic Golf Tournament: On March 1st of
this year, we had our 10th annual Crown Classic Golf
Tournament to benefit Breast Cancer Education and
Awareness. We put together various committees for
decorations, PR, sponsorships and raffles. To plan, we
held committee meetings once a week! For the second
year in a row, we held the event at Timberlake
Country Club in Chapin, South Carolina. The owners
of the venue are very accommodating to our needs and
were always very willing to explain anything to us
that we did not understand. The country club is a large
18 hole golf course, and an inside portion that
includes a shop and restaurant. The country club
catered the lunch that was included in the price of the
event. The event was a double shotgun and we had 14
teams from the 8:00 AM shotgun and 27 teams for the
1:30 shotgun. Each team consisted of 4 players and
the cost was $400 per team ($100 per person).
Unfortunately, the day of the event, the forecast was
predicting rain. We arrived at the course to
temperatures barely above freezing and cold rain. That
did not dampen our spirits, though! We are so
thankful for the teams still coming out to support the
cause, despite the poor weather! Every member of our
chapter was assigned a shift to work at the
tournament. We had a group of sisters standing at
every hole on the course, talking to the golfers and
making sure they were having a good time. Other
members were inside working the raffle, t-shirt and
baked goods tables. Overall, the day was very
successful! We are so proud of the support and
participation we received and the wonderful members
of our community that surrounding us. There were
also many of our parents there, so it was great to see
some familiar faces! We were humbled by the
outpouring of love and support from our friends,

Jakes Percent Night: On April 8th, we had a percent
night a local restaurant known as Jakes on Devine.
The percent night was to benefit our philanthropy and
was conducted in conjunction with Alpha Epsilon Pi.
Their chapter shares a similar philanthropy as us, both
benefitting Breast Cancer Education and Awareness!
They were very excited to work with us in support of
our philanthropy. This percent night was a way for us
to raise awareness for an upcoming kickball
tournament. The percent night was from 7-9 PM,
where many of our sisters as well as the brothers of
AEPi were in attendance.
ZTA and AEPi Kickball Tournament: On Sunday,
April 12th from 12pm-4pm Zeta Tau Alpha and Alpha
Epsilon Pi hosted a Kickball Tournament to benefit
Breast Cancer Educations and Awareness. We will be
putting teams into a bracket formation for the
tournament. There will be food from various vendors
such as village idiot and firehouse subs that we will
take a donation for. A lot of our members have
already signed up teams and are getting very excited
about the tournament!
Ritas Percent Night: On Wednesday, April 22nd, we
are planning to hold a percent night at Ritas Italian
Ice. Ritas is a popular seasonal dessert located in an
area known as The Vista, in Columbia. We wanted
to do one last fundraising event this semester to end
the semester on a good note! Ritas desserts are an
inexpensive treat and are especially popular now that
it is getting warm out. Ritas will donate $1.00 of
every purchase to Breast Cancer Education and
Awareness. We expect to have a large turnout of
sisters!

independent and enriched lives by

providing them with a service dog. Since
PAALS is a nonprofit organization, the
director of the organization, her husband,
and three children are so kind to open up
their home as the PAALS headquarters
where approximately twenty dogs reside.
Only 5 ZTAs could attend since PAALS
is very low on space; moreover, almost
every room housed a dog! First, we took
several dogs on a training walk where
the dogs practiced walking at the same
speed as your owner, making eye contact
with your owner, and keeping focus on
the road (no sniffing!). The ZTAs
definitely learned how much time and
training must be put in to train these
dogs. Secondly, we guided the dogs to
practice turning on a light switch and
opening a washer. Finally, we concluded
our time volunteering with puppy
enrichment. The ZTAs learned more at
PAALS than any other volunteer
opportunity we have attended. PAALS
love volunteers and definitely would
appreciate us coming back! Overall, the
event was a success!

Supply Drive for the Original Six
Foundation: As part of ZTA Day, we
organized a supply drive for the Original
Six Foundation. This foundation serves
to better our communities, here in South
Carolina, by building bridges for a better
quality of life for all residents. The
foundation was created by our very own
Governor and guest speaker at ZTA Day,
Nikki Haley! Our members were so
excited to be able to help support such a
great cause and we were able to collect
251 items that will be donated directly to
needy schools in South Carolina! We
collected an abundance of items
including markers, notebooks,
highlighters, pens, pencils and craft
supplies!
Harvest for Hope Food Drive: Lambda 45
Chi Alpha hosted a canned food drive
between other sororities and fraternities
during the month of February, through a
partnership with a local Harvest for Hope
Food Bank. Our service chairs
coordinated with our panhellenic
delegate to make our contributions
possible! All cans donated through the
food drive will be given to the local
hungry people of Columbia. The winning
sorority or fraternity received a 200
dollar check to their philanthropy. Zeta
Tau Alpha contributed over 300 cans to

this awesome cause! Beta Omicron won

the overall food drive with the most cans,
which led the chapter to receiving a $200
check towards our philanthropy!
LifeCare: On Tuesday, February 10,
10
2015, the members of Beta Omicron
volunteered at LifeCare of Columbia, a
local nursing home. Ten members
attended the event, most were new
members. We were there from 3pm to
4pm and handed out Valentines Day
cards to the residents. The residents
thoroughly enjoyed receiving
personalized cards made by our
members, an event put on by our
sisterhood chairs. While there, we met a
woman who was 101 years old, and she
was so grateful that we visited her during
this holiday. The staff seemed rushed
and not very happy that we were present,
but our members still possessed positive
attitudes. Overall, this event was
successful. It was so wonderful to see the
joy of residents who do not have regular
visitors.
Palmetto Childrens Hospital: On
6
Thursday, February 12th, 2015, from 34pm, ZTA volunteered at Palmetto
Childrens Hospital in Columbia. ZTA
prepared a Valentines Day craft to do
with 20-25 children that ultimately
would make their hospital rooms
brighter! The volunteer stated that only 6
ZTAs could attend and our time
together could only be for an hour since
some children can be shy and intimidated
by others presence. The coordinator also
reminded all of the ZTAs that some
children may not be feeling up for the
interaction and activity. ZTA completed
the craft and entertained the children
who were up for it and even let some
parents get a break or run errands. ZTA
also recently made Valentines Day
cards for the childrens hospital, which
were distributed to them by their staff on
Valentines Day! The Palmetto
Childrens Hospital loves volunteers and
definitely would appreciate us coming
back. We made the children feel special,
which made the event a success!

Think Pink Womens Basketball
Game: On Monday, February 23rd, over
100 ZTAs wearing our ZTA Think Pink
jerseys lined the basketball court to cheer
and high five breast cancer survivors as
they made a victory lap during around
the court during half time at the USC
Womens basketball Pink Out Game. In

addition, we had a table set up with free

ribbons, pink cupcakes, information on
Breast Cancer Awareness and Education,
and cards to sign in honor of loved ones
affected by breast cancer. It was a great
event and we were so happy with how
many members came to support these
survivors!
Sandel Elementary School Supply
Drop-Off: On Tuesday, February 24th,
2015, from 3-4pm, ZTA dropped off
over 575 school supply items to Sandel
Elementary School in Columbia.
Approximately 20 ZTAs attended this
event. We were so excited to show the
school all we donated. Sandel
Elementary School was so thrilled and
welcomed us back anytime. ZTA loved
completing this drop off and plan on
returning to Sandel Elementary School
for some homework help in the fall!
Overall, the event was a success and we
look forward to working with the school
in the future!
Service Saturday: On Saturday,
February 28th, 2 ZTA members attended
Service Saturday at USC. Service
Saturday is held once a month where
students participate in different areas of
service. Our members willingly
volunteered early Saturday morning from
8am-1pm. Service Saturday sent our
members to the Tucker Center, a nursing
home where the patients have
disabilities. At the Tucker Center, ZTA
played Bingo with the residents! The
members enjoyed Service Saturday and
plan on going again. Overall it was a
success!
Crown Classic: All of our members
were required to complete a 5 hour shift
to help with our Crown Classic Golf
Tournament. Our entire chapter was
there, aside from any members studying
abroad or those who had to miss the
tournament under special circumstances.
Our members always enjoy getting to
spend time on the golf course, while
helping to raise money for our
philanthropy! Their tasks included
driving golf carts, helping with raffles,
registering teams, selling items at the
bake sale, passing out food and drinks,
and greeting golfers at holes and selling
mulligans. We cant wait for the golf
tournament again next year!
St. Andrews Caf: On Tuesday, March
3rd, 4 ZTAs volunteered at USCs
impact weekly service trips. USC holds

weekly service events that are open to all

USC students. On Tuesdays Impact
Weekly attends St. Andrews Kids Caf.
St Andrews Kids Caf is a church run
program that holds an after school
program for underprivileged children.
We played in their gym, read a book to
the children, did a project that was
relevant to the book, and finally, had
dinner with the children. It was by far
one of our favorite service events. They
loved us all and begged us to come next
Tuesday! Overall, it was a great
experience and ZTA will definitely be
back in the near future.
Hannah House: On Thursday, March
5th, three of our members were generous
enough to bring the blankets made at our
Sisterhood Retreat to this local shelter.
Our members helped move items from
the bedrooms to the downstairs common
area when they first arrived, and then
they entertained the children living there
with arts and crafts. They brought
construction paper, markers, glitter and
glue to make drawings. This was such a
great opportunity for our sisters to see
how they can impact their community
and how small amount of effort can
make a lot of people happy!
Tucker Life Center: On Wednesday,
March 18th, 5 ZTA members volunteered
at the Tucker Life Center in Columbia.
ZTA volunteered from 2:30pm-4pm. At
the Tucker Life Center, a nursing home
where the patients have disabilities, ZTA
played Bingo with the residents! The
Tucker Center can be a very sensitive
environment, but our members handled
the event with grace and overall had a
great time with the residents. ZTA
enjoyed this event and plans on returning
to the Tucker Life Center for some more
fun!
Pink Posse Pancake Breakfast: On
Saturday, March 21, we had the
opportunity for ten Zetas to go to Fatz
Caf from 7-11 AM and help the Pink
Posse Breast Cancer Survivors group
serve a pancake breakfast to people who
bought tickets to attend their annual Pink
Posse Fundraiser. We got to serve
breakfast to numerous families that
came out to support the cause, as well as
help to promote the Pink Posse Group
while they were selling raffle tickets and
helping coordinate the orders! It was a
great experience and so fun to get to do
some hands on work!

Dance Marathon: On March 21, 2015

from 10 AM to midnight, 34 members of
USC ZTA participated in Dance
Marathon. Dance Marathon is a
nationwide movement among several
universities that supports and raises
money for local childrens hospitals. At
Dance Marathon, participants stay on
their feet through dancing, games and
entertainment in celebration of the total
amount of money raised that year. As if
standing on their feet for 14 hours
straight was not enough, Zetas Dance
Marathon team raised an outstanding
$5,163 for the Childrens Palmetto
Health Hospital. Two members of Beta
Omicron, Emily Kouten and Bailey
Lewis, were members of the official
USC Dance Marathon Morale. They
helped teach line dances and met once a
week with other Dance Marathon Club
members to help plan the main event. Six
other members of USC ZTA volunteered
at Dance Marathon for 3 hours each.
They served meals, helped with clean up
and cooperated with the Dance Marathon
directors. The ZTA Dance Marathon
team leader, Lauren Oleszko, created a
banner to hang in the university gym
during Dance Marathon. 34 women of
Beta Omicron danced for the children
who cannot. They danced in hopes of
miracles and in celebration of making
those miracles possible.
PAALS: On Wednesday, April 8th,
5
2015, from 3:30-5:30pm, ZTA returned
to volunteer at Palmetto Animals
Assisted Life Services in Columbia. Our
members had so much fun the first time;
we wanted to make sure we went back!

volunteered at the Heartworm Project
Auction. ZTA volunteered from 5:309pm. The Heartworm Project Auction is
run by our former Membership Advisor
and sister of our chapter so the ZTAs
were very excited to help out! The
Heartworm Project benefits shelter
animals in need. At the auction, ZTA
helped check people in, cleaned up after
guests, and helped out with the auction
check out. ZTA enjoyed helping out our
sister and will happily do it again!
Hannah House: On Wednesday, April
15th, 12 ZTA members volunteered at the
Hannah House in Columbia. ZTA
volunteered from 12-2pm. The Hannah
House is a Christian ran facility, which
provides hope for women and children
who are without. Overall, the goal of
Hannah House is to provide the
transition of a dependent woman to an
independent woman who is then capable
to care for her children. ZTA played
board games and helped the children
with homework, giving their mothers a
break and allowing them to attend a
seminar on bettering themselves. ZTA
enjoyed this event and plan on returning
to the Hannah House again!
City Roots: On April 24, from 1:304:30, we are planning an event to City
Roots in Columbia. Ten sisters are
planning to attend. We are going to
volunteer at their sustainable farm to
help fight hunger. We are doing outdoor
activities, such as gardening and
farming. We are so excited to volunteer
here for the first time and to do service
outdoors! If all goes well, we hope to
volunteer here regularly in the fall!

with 4.0 received $20 cards and between 3.75 and 3.99 received $15.
Our members truly appreciate being recognized for their academic
achievements and this encourages them to continue to succeed!
Organizing of Study Files: On Friday, February 6, members of EC
took a few hours to organize the study files we have at the study at the
ZTA house. We went through each file and disposed of any materials
that were outdated or irrelevant. This turned out to be helpful for our
entire chapter so each member can now easily locate the files they are
looking for, without having to sort through any clutter!
LinkedIn Tutorial: On Monday, February 23, 2015, we hosted a
LinkedIn Workshop for an hour in the dining room at the ZTA house.
Approximately 14 of our members were in attendance. At the
workshop, our Academic Chairwoman showed the members what the
website was, how to use it, and how it is an effective tool in the
professional world. We looked at multiple profiles to consider their
strengths and weakness and also helpful tips from the LinkedIn
website! This was a great event because it involved real-world
applications and information!
LinkedIn Photo Taking: On Tuesday, February 24, 2015, we set up a
place for our members to come take headshots for their LinkedIn
profiles in the parlor. Our members came dressed in business attire and
their pictures were taken on a nice, clear camera.
Meeting with ACE Coach: On Wednesday April 8th, our Academic
Achievement Chairwoman met with an ACE Coach from the Student
Success Center. ACE stands for Academic Coaching and
Engagement. They had an hour meeting to discuss different ways in
which we can enhance the chapter academically. A time was chosen
for the ACE coach to come to the ZTA house during dinner to talk
with our members about time management and the best ways to create
academic success!
Z-Learning: As a requirement to attend ZTA Formal and be in good
standing with ZTA, each of our members was required to complete the
Z-learning workshop: Stress Less, Focus on Success. We presented
how to log onto Z-learning and the purpose of it during one of our
chapter meetings. This was extremely helpful and applicable to our
members because we all know what it feels like to be overwhelmed
and this workshop offers numerous suggestions on how to deal with
this struggle!
Time Management Seminar: On Wednesday, April 22, our
Academic Achievement Chairwoman, Mallory Donn, will host a time
management seminar at the house during dinner time! Our sister
Mallory met with a USC Academic Coaching and Engagement staff
earlier in the year in order to accumulate a few helpful tips to be
pinpointed during this seminar! The purpose of this seminar is to help
our sisters prepare for finals. We know our sisters will appreciate these
extra tips!
Starbucks Party: On Monday April 27th, we will be hosting our
semester Starbucks party from 7 PM to 10 PM. There will be a $500
tab at the Starbucks on Gervais Street for our members to get a drink
of their choice. Each girl will be given a token to indicate she is with
ZTA. We will also have half the caf reserved so that our sisters can
come and study or just chat with each other for a good study break!
Our sisters love this since it is right before finals and a great chance to
say some last goodbyes to our sisters.
Study Hours: This semester, we allowed sisters to log their study
hours at the house as well as at the library. There is a folder with
papers where anyone can log their name and hours while studying at
the house. Every Friday, the hours logged at the library are collect.

Decorating Day for ZTA Day: On Saturday April 17th, a few of our
alumnae joined our Zeta Day Committee in making decorations for
Zeta Day at the Beta Omicron house! There were 21 of our Beta
Omicron members in attendance and everyone had so much fun
getting to know one another. They made all sorts of great center pieces
and wall decorations, each themed around Alice in Wonderland! We
are so thankful to our alumnae for helping us get these decorations
made in a timely manner!
Alumnae House Tour: On Friday January 30th, the afternoon before
South Carolina Zeta Day, we conducted a house tour for our alumnae!
The dining room was decorated with table settings consisting of
freshly cut flowers, table linens, and Eat-Me, Drink-Me chalk signs
for the light food and drink. We provided cookies catered by Insomnia
in addition to strawberries and lemonade for our guests. Most of the
alumni came in at different times so different members of our
Executive Committee participated by socializing with our guests as
our house manager or another member of EC formally gathered a
group to take around the house and describe what we used each room
for (Parlor, TV Room, Dining Room, Study and the Office). We took
the groups to the upstairs as well and used a sample room to show as a
representative of all the others. We all had a great time!
Dinner with ZTA Alumnae, PLS Logistics: ZTA Alumnae, from
West Minster University visited our chapter and had dinner with some
of our seniors. She wanted to help them with the job hunting process
they are currently experiencing.
Green Greeks Program: A ZTA alumna facilitated a program with
our chapter to educate our members on sustainability. She helped us
understand the impact on recycling and how we could make a positive
impact in our chapter house.
Alumni/Senior Lunch: On April 8th, our seniors joined our alumni at
Caf Strudel in West Columbia for a luncheon. This was a Columbia
ZTA Alumni Chapter sisterhood event, which they kindly invited our
senior pledge class to attend as well. The alumni spoke with our
seniors about post-graduate life and how much they enjoy being a part
of an alumni chapter. This event was so important because we want
our seniors to seriously consider keeping ZTA in their life, even postgraduation. Many of the alumni in the Columbia chapter did not go to
college in the area, so this was beneficial for seniors who plan to move
and work in different cities.
Alumni Babysitting Night: We will be hosting the children of the
ZTA Columbia Alumni chapter on Friday April 24th. The Columbia
Alumni chapter is having a date night at the zoo, so we decided to
watch their kids for them to make it easier for the families! The
Alumni will drop their children off at the ZTA house as early as 5:30
PM and will stay until around 10 PM. The babysitting night will be
Princess and Pirates themed. The children will be provided with
either crowns or pirate hats and we will be ordering pizza! There will
also be pretzels, cupcakes, and other yummy treats! Later on in the

Senior Send-Off: We will be hosting the senior send-off on Sunday
April 26th at 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. ZTA Alumna and National
Officer, Casey Pash, will be hosting this event in the Clubroom of her
home. We have about 65 seniors and are expecting 40 to attend. We
plan to have food catered from Dipratos. Tara Rabinowiz, another
Alumna, and our own Alumnae/Collegiate Chair plan to do meet-andgreet activities between the alumni and seniors. This is also the
exciting time where seniors will receive their Zeta Tau Alpha
graduation cords. The alumnae also plan to talk about post-graduate

with our chapter in order to educate our members about the newly
colonized chapter of Lambda Nu at Furman University! The presentation
included all the information about the colonization including who was
involved, what events were held, and what chapters came to help with
recruiting! Our General Advisor, Katie Wilkes, shared a few words about
the process since she has been on a TLC Colonization team before! We
also shared with our chapter that a few of our very own Executive
Committee officers will be headed to Furman in April to help initiate
their new members, something all really enjoyed when the time came
As a group, we were able to help initiate the new members of the
Lambda Nu chapter, witness the installation of the chapter, and meet our
very own National Council President!
03/22/2015 Formal Entry Review: Our ritual chair conducted a brief overview with
the chapter as to how we properly conduct our formal entry ceremony
according to our rituals. Our formal entry is when our members
demonstrate their membership through a few different ways that prove
their knowledge of our traditions.
03/22/2015 History of ZTA: This presentation went through the first 6 points on the
timeline of the history of ZTA from 1898 today. These points included
our founding, joining Pan-Hellenic, creating the coat of arms, writing
The Creed, and our first philanthropic project.
04/12/2015 Speaker Jan Middlebrooks: Jan Middlebrooks, an alumna and former
Province President, came to speak to our chapter about what ZTA means
to her and what it has done for her in her life. We opened up the chapter
for our alumnae to come and listen, as well as provided food and
beverages to make the event a little more fun! We have been in contact
with Jan for many months, trying extremely hard to work out a time for

PC Transitions Retreat: On November 23rd from 12-2 the former and

new Programs Council met together in Russell House on campus. This
was to effectively transition the new PC into their positions! This
event was organized by the outgoing VPI, Caroline Kennerly, and
incoming VPI, Jess Barriere. Each position prepared a binder with
instructions, responsibilities and helpful contact information. Hudsons
Smokehouse catered the event, which was very yummy! We are happy
that this retreat helped to decrease confusion and questions within the
new PC.
Greek Leadership Retreat: Hanna, our President attended GLR
along with all other chapter presidents and officers of Sorority and
Fraternity council. At the retreat, they brainstormed ways to improve
our Greek community, empower their own chapter members, and lead
their chapters to success. They also discussed ways our Greek
community could prevent risk among our members, and deal with
potential issues that may arise.
PC Retreat: On January 14th, all the members of our newly elected
PC met in Russell House for an Oscars themed retreat! We started
the retreat off with each member first stating their name, position and a
new goal or idea they had for the 2015 Programs Council. Everyone
was then split into Directors groups in order to discuss a character
from a popular movie, of their choice, who was a great leader. The
goal of this exercise was to relate these ideas to how we can all be
great leaders on PC. I then had everyone regroup and explained how
serving on PC is similar to directing a movie: we all have to work
together to understand each others leadership styles and work in
supporting roles to reach our collective goals! I think this really helped
each director and chairwoman understand the impact they will have on
our chapter throughout the year. We then split into directors groups
again to discuss specific goals everyone had for their position. After
discussion, we got back together as a group to set goals and plan our
calendar for the semester! It was great to see everyone working
together to get awesome events planned. I then surprised everyone
with personalized gifts bags This was to represent a sort of Oscar
that every member won for being a member of PC! They each
included a welcome letter from myself, a list of contact information
for all of PC, cute little office supplies and candy! Our sisters really
seemed to appreciate being rewarded. To end the retreat, everyone was
able to make ice cream sundaes while other Executive Committee
officers arrived to share some encouraging words for the semester!
Judicial Interviews: Our President held interviews of potential
Judicial Chair and Committee candidates to ensure that those selected
were the most qualified. Each interviewee answered a series of
questions which revealed her skill level and personal ideas. We
announced the selected Judicial Chair and Committee at the next
chapter through a FRED presentation.
EC Retreat: The main purpose of our EC Retreat was to get all 12 of
us on the same page. We set goals for ourselves, our EC, and our

chapter as a whole. We established plans for member retention,

member affiliation, and membership accountability. We shared ideas
for our positions and the goals we each have for our term as leaders.
We helped each other brainstorm tasks to reach our goals, setting
ourselves up for a successful semester. Additional activities
throughout the course of the day included a ZTA History quiz, What
Color is Your Crown, and a reflection of our Creed. We analyzed what
phrases we do well and what we could improve upon as a chapter. We
concluded the retreat by writing anonymous compliments on a piece of
paper for each EC member. We all have them hanging above our desks
to lift our spirits during the tough times. Our EC Retreat helped us
bond and become a united group of leaders.
Student Organization Fair: Our Director of Activities attending the
USC Student Organization Fair on January 24th. At the fair, she
learned about many organizations that our sisters may be interested in
but may not know about! This information is being shared with the
chapter in order to encourage our members to become more involved
on campus, outside of ZTA.
Hope Woffords Visit: Over the two day visit, our Executive
Committee had the opportunity to meet 1:1 with Hope, our Province
President. This was a great opportunity for each of them to establish a
relationship with Hope. On Saturday night, we went out to dinner as a
group and had a great time sharing ZTA stories with her, and hearing
about her time as a collegiate member. After dinner, we had an
informal meeting, which turned into us chatting for hours about our
love for our Fraternity and how each of us has the opportunity to
inspire greatness among our members.
ZTA Day Committee Meeting #1: On January 17, 2015 the Chapters
Decorations Committee for ZTA Day met at 9:30am at the ZTA house
to prepare decorations for the big day! We had 25 sisters on the
committee and they were split up into five different decorating groups!
Some groups were in charge of making tissue paper flower, mad hatter
hats, tutu skirts for Alice, signs for all of the chapters, and wrapping
boxes for the service component of ZTA day! We even had Jasons
Deli deliver some sandwiches. Everyone had a great time bonding
with their sisters and meeting a few alumnae! We got some great
pictures and hope to be this involved with helping for ZTA day in the
future!
ZTA Day Committee Meeting #2: On January 24th, 2015 the
Decorations Committee met at 9:30am at the ZTA house to get some
last minute decorating done for ZTA day! We worked on the photo
sign that would be used as a prop to take pictures with, helped the
banner chair and her committee finish painting the banner, finished the
mad hatter hats for each chapter, and made the spirit stick There
were about 20 members in attendance and everyone worked very
diligently to get everything done on time!
ZTA Day Committee Meeting #3: On January 30th, 2015 the
Decorations Committee met at the venue to help set up! There were
about 15 members in attendance that helped get the photo booth area
set up, tie scarves on the back of all of the chairs, setup all of the
centerpieces, hang large cards on the walls, and setup the registration
table! While everyone was setting up, our dance team performed their
dance, which got people really excited for the next day! The dance
chair did a wonderful job choreographing the routine! Overall, these
meetings were very helpful and the Beta Omicron chapter was very
thankful that we were able to host ZTA day this year!
South Carolina ZTA Day: On January 31, 2015 the Beta Omicron
chapter headed to The Medallion Conference Center in Columbia, SC
to meet for our annual ZTA Day. Our members arrived at 8am to get

time playing games with Alice and the Mad Hatter before the event
started! The Beta Omicron chapter excitingly accepted the following
awards; Major Donor, Quota/Total, Highly Commendable GPA, and
the Cass Elias McCarter. Our sister, Cara Pritchett was awarded
Outstanding Member and Caroline Kennerly was awarded Outstanding
Leader for the 2015 year. This was a very exciting time for our
Chapter because we got to see that our efforts really did make a
difference. This years ZTA Day was extra exciting because the
Columbia collegiate and alumnae chapter were the hosts! The
decoration committee helped out with making the centerpieces, wall
dcor, paintings, and much more! The dance team performed for
entertainment that was catered to the Alice and Wonderland theme and
organized by our wonderful dance chair! Hanna Stone and Cassidy
Bunting spoke in the Zeta Spans a Lifetime ceremony, which was
dedicated to our seniors. We also had Katie Fisher and Emily Curtis
begin the song Today and Forever. This was such a great experience
for our members because we got to see how this event is organized
from top to bottom. It was an awesome feeling knowing that we could
help out and give our time to making sure that this years ZTA day
was outstanding!
Crown Classic Committee Meeting #1: On January 20, 2015
members of the chapter were invited for an info meeting regarding
Crown Classic Committee. At this meeting, the co-directors of
fundraising passed out forms for the committee. The forms asked the
members which subcommittee they would like to be on. There are four
subcommittees; sponsorship, raffle, public relations and decorations.
They were also asked to give ideas and if they had any interest in
being head of one of the subcommittees. This form worked out really
well because it gave the co-directors an idea of the committee they
would have and some more ideas on the golf tournament!
Crown Classic Committee Meeting #2: On January 27th, 2015 the
committee met for our first official meeting of the semester. At this
meeting members were assigned to their subcommittees and given an
introduction on what they will be doing and getting ideas from the
other members on the subcommittee. This was also a great time for the
sisters to exchange cell phone numbers and get to know members that
they had never met before. This year we have 21 people on the
committee and everyone was very excited to make the 10th Annual
Crown Classic the best one yet!
Crown Classic Committee Meeting #3: On February 3rd, 2015 the
committee met in the Parlor at the ZTA house! We discussed what
each sub-committee would be responsible for before the event arrived.
We gave the decoration subcommittee the layout of the country club,
the PR subcommittee flyers to pass out around campus, the
sponsorship subcommittee a binder of local businesses to call, and
with the raffle subcommittee we gave them an idea of what items to
look for with the silent auction. Overall, we think that this meeting
went very well!
Crown Classic Committee Meeting #4: On February 10th, 2015 the
committee met in the Parlor at the ZTA house! We began with
attendance and taking updates on what each member worked on the
previous week. We then evaluated the updates and brainstormed on
other tasks that needed to be done. Each member made a lot of
progress and we could see that they were really working to make sure
that this event was successful!
Crown Classic Committee Meeting #5: On February 24th, 2015 the
committee met in the Parlor for our last committee meeting before

work we brought insomnia cookies! While we shared some delicious
cookies we discussed last minute updates and made a general list on
everything that we had so we could see what else needed to be done
within the short amount of time before Crown Classic! This was a
great time to celebrate their success and look back on the time that we
got to get to know each other while volunteering for a great cause!
SWOT: Our 12 Executive Committee officers attended State Wide
Officer Training after SC ZTA Day. It was a great opportunity to
connect with other chapter leaders and brainstorm ways to improve
our chapters together.
Student Leadership and Diversity Conference: Four of our chapter
leaders attended SLDC hosted at USC. The daylong conference
consisted of a series of workshops and presentations geared toward
student leaders. It was a great way for our officers to gain skills to put
to use throughout the year!
Recruitment Practice #1: The first recruitment practice was held on
February 8th, 2015 over a period of three hours. It was for the new
members and new affiliates of Beta Omicron. We discussed the
mandatory dates for spirit week and recruitment in the fall. We then
went over the entrance song for Round 1. After the members learned
the song, they incorporated the bouncing and clapping and practiced it
full out. For the last hour of practice, we split up into groups to
practice conversations. Each member of EC led a conversation
workshop with their small group that mainly consisted of them
practicing small talk and conversation starters. It was a really great
way for the new members to meet other members and get to know
each other better. Overall, it went really well and everyone had a great
time!
Recruitment Practice #2: The second recruitment practice was held
on March, 22nd 2015 over a period of three hours. It was held for the
new members and affiliates of Beta Omicron. We discussed outfits
that are to be worn during recruitment and showed examples of the
outfits for each round. We then went over the Round 1 entrance song
again as a group in order to refresh everyones memory. The members
then practiced cheering on the wall, incorporating the clapping and
bouncing. We worked on the pacing and rhythm a lot with the
bouncing. The members then practiced taking girls at the door and
leading them into the dining room so they could learn what it is like
during actual recruitment. Some older chapter members pretended to
be PNMs so the new members could have people to lead. Everyone
worked really hard and there was a lot of positive energy, so it went
really well!
Recruitment Practice #3: The third recruitment practice will be held
on April 25th. The new members will come from 9-12 and we will
review Round 1. We will then go over bumping and will use visual
representations so our new members can get a better understanding of
bumping. They will then be divided into groups and practice bumping.
After bumping we will go over what happens in all rounds. There will
be a 2 hour lunch break and then there is a practice for all members
from 2-6. During this time the new members will practice round 1 and
the older members will practice being the PNMs and we will have a
mock recruitment. The older members will be able to give the new
members advice and also help them practice conversations with
PNMs. We will also go over the dance and break off into groups to
learn it. At the end of practice we will go over recruitment dates and
answer any questions that members may have.

Sydney 1:1 and she helped them develop new ideas for programming
and ways to build their position. We had a great time exploring local

our Fall 2014 pledge class, a PC meeting, an EC meeting and chapter.
It was so great for the chapter to meet Sydney and hear about the TLC
position! We all were so sad to see her leave and are so grateful for her
visit!
Southeastern Pan-Hellenic Conference: On March 26th through
March 29th, our Pan-Hellenic delegate, Jennings Craft, attended the
SEPC with other delegates from all sororities at USC along with
Sorority Council. She spent three days learning through various
education sessions, both for personal and chapter development. The
first night she met with all the other Zeta Tau Alpha representatives
and the NPC delegates. Jennings met sisters from all over the country
and managed to make life-long connections across state lines. She
brought back wonderful ideas for the chapter and renewed bonds for
our Greek community here at USC.
Furman Initiation: Eight of our EC members and four rising leaders
attended the initiation of the Lambda Nu Chapter at Furman
University. It was an amazing experience to initiate the chapter
president of the new chapter. Our sisters not only helped to witness the
new members, but also witnessed the installation of the chapter as
whole. This was a once in a lifetime experience that our sisters will
cherish. Along with this, our sister met Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs.
Conrad! These women have done so much for ZTA and we cannot
thank them enough. Another exciting part of the trip included getting
to see the real chain link of our chapters. An abundance of pictures
were taken We will forever remember the experience of initiating
the 251st link!
1:1 EC Meetings: Our President individually met with each of our
officers to review the semester. During the meeting we reviewed our
EC and chapter goals and analyzed ways we succeeded and ways we
could further improve next semester. It was a great opportunity to
discuss each position in depth and how we can plan for more success
in the Fall.
Banner Committee: This semester, our sisters really wanted more
banners at the events we hold. Who doesnt love pictures in a front of
a cute banner! Our banner committee was extremely dedicated and
worked very hard to make each banner special, typically meeting once
or twice a week to work on whichever banners were needed. These
banners were made for Zeta Day, each of our functions, the sisterhood
retreat, Derby Days, and Greek Week! We are so proud of their hard
work and artistic abilities!
Sorority Council Meetings: Every Monday, Sorority Council meets
with the delegates, whether under NPC/NPHC umbrella groups,
together, or with joint council. Often a topic is brought up, for
instance how to deal with social media, while taking announcements
and ensuring that our community is on the same page. On certain
occasions, speakers such as TJ Sullivan have visited to educate us
about various ways to enhance our community. Once a month,
sorority council joins with fraternity council for a joint meeting to
keep each group informed of the others activities.
PC Meetings: Our Programs Council meetings typically take place in
our house parlor on Sundays and last about one hour. Each member of
PC is required to be in attendance to ensure the meetings run smoothly
and we get the information we need. Our Programs Council advisor,
Chantelle Neese, is in attendance at these meetings as well. At the first
meeting of each month, members of EC also attend to check in with

the PC members and offer their help wherever needed. This has been
so helpful in bridging the gap between PC and EC, making
communication smooth and comfortable. When EC is in attendance,
this also helps them in staying up to date on our plans for chapter
activities. Our Vice President of Programming, Jess Barriere, starts
each meeting off with a recap of the week before. It is important to
recognize the events that have occurred so our sisters know we
appreciate their hard work and planning. After the recap, each position
has the chance to talk with Jess as well as other members of PC to plan
their events and cross-program when applicable. The meeting is
always open for any position to offer suggestions to others regarding
their planning. At the end of the meetings, announcements for chapter
are collected and members are free to hang-out in the parlor to
continue planning with other positions or talk to Jess about anything
specific! During holidays weekend or university breaks, Jess creates a
Google Sheet for members to fill out so we do not fall behind in
planning. Each position has access to the document and is able to
answer the questions Jess lines up as well as enter their chapter
announcements! This is a new strategy we tried this semester and it
has been very successful.
EC Meetings: Our Executive Committee meetings typically take place All members of EC
in our house parlor (with the exception for a few coffee shops around
Columbia) and last about 75-120 minutes. Our entire EC and our
General and Financial Advisor, Katie Wilkes, are in attendance. For
the first 15 minutes, our Director of Social and her assistant come to
our meetings to discuss the details of upcoming functions. Its a great
way to have an open line of communication with them to discuss any
foreseeable issues. Then we begin each meeting by reviewing our 5
chapter goals as well as our 5 EC goals. This is the best way for us to
be constantly reminded of what we are working towards. Each position
delivers their announcements, starting with the President. We discuss
any upcoming events programs, ideas, and proposals that we feel
would benefit our chapter. We also discuss required programming that
we need to act upon. After functions, we conduct a post-social
analysis to discuss any issues that arose. We brainstorm ways to tackle
these issues to prevent them from reoccurring. To conclude our
meetings, we review any suggestions that we have received from our
Suggestion Box. The chapter has access to the box 24/7 and can give
any advice or criticism they wish. We deliberate about ways to
resolve the issues and how we can improve them as an EC.
Chapter Meetings: Our meetings are designed to inform our members Chapter
of upcoming events and obligations. This semester we focused on
improving the morale during our chapter meetings. We delivered all
information in an efficient way to leave some time for fun. We held
dress down chapters for Girls on the Run Columbia, Annies
Playground and Dance Marathon, allowing members to wear casual
clothes and bring a $2 donation for the cause. We had ZTA Jeopardy
questions at chapter and frequently awarded members for going above
and beyond. Chapters morale has overall improved this semester and
we are looking forward to further improving our meetings next
semester as well!

Values Based Program: Our ritual chair and risk management chair
presented a program to the chapter, which highlighted the importance
of prioritizing and balancing rituals, sisterhood, and a social life.
Members of the chapter participated through various activities to
demonstrate why it is important for our rituals to be a priority. We
awarded members who were excited and interested in participating
with donuts!
International Badge Day: On March 2, 2015 we celebrated
International Badge Day. Our members dressed up in business casual
attire and sported their badges with pride. We had a fun time making a
video of our members saying different parts of the creed while wearing
their letters. The entire chapter was excited and impressed to see the
final product of the video that was posted on international badge day.
Kenneth E. Berger, LLP Speaker: The weekend leading up to
Carolina Cup, we invited Kenneth E. Berger, a local lawyer in
Columbia, to our chapter meeting to educate our members on safety
with the law. He shared with us how we can protect ourselves and
make smart choices. It was a great way to gain professional advice.
Creed: Before the start of every chapter, each member of our chapter
stands to recite the Creed. The members of Beta Omicron desire to live
out the Creed each and every day, and this serves as a great reminder.
Our Creed reminds us how important our sisterhood is and the fact that
we represent ZTA wherever we go.
Creed Breakdown at Chapter: Each week at chapter our President
announced a section of the creed that we were going to focus on each
week. We analyzed the portion and brainstormed ways we could act in
ways that would shine a positive light on ZTA. At the next chapter we
discussed the previous section and members shared ways they lived
through the words of the creed. Our historian posted a photo on
Instagram each week to give a mid-week reminder of which portion
we were focusing on. At the EC retreat we established portions of the
creed that we could improve on and this was an effective way to
ensure that our members are living by the creed.

Social Media Guidelines: This presentation was a PowerPoint,
created to highlight acceptable and non-acceptable posts on
social media. This includes Instagram, Facebook, Twitter,
Tumblr, and other social media platforms. The presentation was
shown at our Chapter meeting. The slides highlighted
celebrities in posted photos. These pictures were identified as
either appropriate or inappropriate. For each image, it was
explained why the photo fell under the said category. At the end
of the presentation, a small summary was shown to reemphasize the main points. Overall, the presentation seemed to
go over well with the chapter since the material was presented
in a light and humorous way, but was still deemed as something
to be taken seriously.
Function Rules PowerPoint: At chapter on February 8th, a
PowerPoint was presented to our members with the purpose of
educating and reminding our members about function etiquette
and rules. It was clearly stated that if anyone broke these rules,
the ZTA judicial process would be involved. The slides
included reminders about no alcohol, no fake IDs, respecting
our house and house mom while waiting for a bus, or any other
time spent at the ZTA House. The presentation went over very
well and our function was an outstanding success!
Healthy Relationships Seminar: On March 3rd, 2015, our
Chapter hosted a joint risk management education program with
the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha. The purpose of this
programming was to educate our members on the importance of
healthy relationships. A member of SAVIP came to discuss
what a healthy relationship means and what is considered to be
harmful in relationships. It was an open discussion between the
speaker and the audience, where many people participated and
gave their ideas. This was an important and helpful seminar
because college students often lose sight of what a relationship

2015, our chapter hosted a seminar for our members in regards
to drug facilitated sexual assault. A member of SAVIP came to
talk with our members about different types of drugs and the
role they play in sexual assaults. The seminar was very
informative and was received well with our members. The
presenter was entertaining and used an abundance of media to
gain out attention. This media included videos and
advertisements that kept the conversation interesting as well as
informative.
Behind Happy Faces Lesson 1: For the first lesson, our Vice
President of Programming facilitated the discussion on
Understanding Mental Health. Our chapter was broken into
groups of about 10 or 15 members, each with a member of EC
present to facilitate and encourage conversations. We went
through each of the outlined activities and had great
discussions! Our sisters particularly enjoyed Exercise 4, where
members were encouraged to write down one thing no one
knew about them and the responses were anonymously shared
with the group. Our members said this was a good way for
things to be put in perspective and realize that everyone is
dealing with issues that not everyone knows about. They were
excited to see what was to come in the second lesson!
Behind Happy Faces Lesson 2: For the second lesson, our
Vice President of Programming continued the discussion in the
same groups that were established in the first lesson to discuss
the topic of Your Mental Health. Our sisters particularly
enjoyed discussing where they fall on the mental health
spectrum and the reasons why they fall in a particular place.
After the lesson was concluded, numerous chapter members
granted our VPI with praise about how much they enjoy the
program and how beneficial it was to our members. We were so
happy these lessons went over so well and are looking forward
to completing lessons 3 and 4 in the upcoming fall semester.

Post Initiate Education: Fall 2014 New Member Pledge Class
At a few of our post initiation education meetings with our new
members, we invited our seniors to come and give the new members
encouraging words! The seniors were so excited to given this
opportunity, and many participated. The new members gave us great
feedback from hearing from the older members. The positive spirit the
seniors brought excited our new members on the journeys they will
soon experience for themselves. During one of 5our first meetings, we
played a game with the new members to see how well they knew their
pledge class. It was fun to see when a random pair of girls realized

way for the new members to meet someone they might not have had as
soon of an opportunity to meet. Our President and Ritual Chair set
aside a portion of one of the PIE meetings to allow these sisters to
write themselves a letter. They spent about ten minutes writing down
how they are enjoying Zeta, the friends they have made, and the
experience that Zeta has introduced them to. The plan is to give the
girls their letters back in a year or so, enabling them to look back and
see how much things have changed, how they have grown, and how
their experiences with Zeta has developed!

February 17th, Delta Zeta hosted their annual Sweet Caroline Bone
Marrow and Blood Drive. Zeta Tau Alpha had 18 members
participate in the event, either giving blood, registering for the bone
marrow registry, or both.
Circle of Sisterhood Movie Night: On Wednesday February 25th,
Circle of Sisterhood, our Sorority Councils philanthropy, hosted a
movie night in Strom to raise money for the groups trip to build a
school in Nicaragua this summer. 20 of our members participated in
the event, as they watched Lizzie McGuire and snacked on some
baked goods!
Valentines Gifts: On Monday February 9th, we delivered a gift bag
to every house in the Greek Village received a gift bag that doubled as
a Valentines Day present as well as a reminder of our Crown Classic
Golf Tournament. The sororities received an assortment of candy all
color coordinated to the flyer while the fraternities received a golf
themed gift bag with the flyer. Each house thoroughly enjoyed them!
Kappa Delta Bowling Tournament: On Sunday March 22nd, Kappa
Delta hosted a bowling tournament during their annual Shamrock
Week. Six of our members constituted a team, and we participated in
two rounds of bowling with other sororities and fraternities while
enjoying pizza. Our sisters had a fantastic time!

together to compete in a variety of events to raise money for the

Huntsman Cancer Institute. Our Chapter participated in the Banner
competition on Sunday the 22nd. We had seventeen members play
bubble soccer on Monday the 23rd. On Tuesday the 24th, insomnia
cookies were delivered to the house for everyone. Wednesday the 25th,
a senior, Alix Shapiro, competed in the Mrs. Venus pageant. We had
16 sisters come to support her performance at Jillians in the Vista.
The last event was Air Band. Our dance team, led by Caitlyn Fretz, did
a great job in their performance and we had 22 members in attendance.
Greek Week Blood Drive: Greek Week was March 30th- April 3rd,
2015 this year. We were paired with Sigma Phi Epsilon, Phi Kappa
Sigma, and Sigma Beta Rho. In the end, we won Greek Week overall!
On Monday, March 30th, we started out the week with a blood drive!
This event occurred all day and there were various locations around
campus. Several of our girls signed up to donate without hesitation but
there was such an overwhelming response that they had to extend the
blood drive another day in order to fit everyone in. We are proud of
our members for donating to such a worthy cause!
Greek Week Service Event: The morning of Monday March 30th, we
took ten representatives from our chapter and the fraternities we were
paired with to Harvest Hope Food Bank right outside of Columbia. We
met up with several other members of different teams of sororities and
fraternities and worked together to box up several boxed and canned
food items for local families in need. This was both a humbling and
rewarding experience, seeing the needs of others around us and
knowing that we took part in helping to prevent local hunger. It was
great to bond with other members of our own Greek community while
serving our local community together!
Greek Week Night at Strom: This event was a sequence of events
that were held out our university workout facility, known as Strom.
The first event was a relay race where we had four girls participating
in one of each of the events. The events were capped at four and they
consisted of leap frog, wheelbarrow race, sprint, and three-legged race.
We also had four members of our fraternity partners participate. We
placed first in this competition after winning the first and final heat.
The next event of the night was a pool relay race. We had three girls
participate in the relay with three of our partner fraternity men. They
had to wear an extra-large t-shirt and after they swam twenty five
meters the next person had to jump in and put the extra-large t-shirt
on. We did not place in this competition because it was based on time.
Third was a dodge ball tournament that was set up in bracket style.
We were team two so we played in the first bracket game. We had
five of our members and five of the fraternity men. They won the first
game! This moved us along to the second round of the bracket where
we lost our next game. The final event was a tug-of-war tournament.
This was also set up in bracket style. We were only allowed to have
two of our members and six of the fraternity men participate. We
placed fourth overall!
Greek Week Instagram Challenge: On Tuesday, March 31st, there
was an Instagram challenge. This challenge consisted of having to
hash-tag #USCRockNScroll in your picture as well as follow our
Greek Programming Board on Instagram. We had over 250 girls
participate in this event. We also created our own hash-tag #ZTAGW
to see what Zeta posted without going through the entire
#USCRockNScroll hash-tag. We also did an ice cream social at the
zeta house to encourage our fraternity partners and to give our sorority
and their fraternities the opportunity to get to know each other. This
was done in hopes that it would encourage both our members and the
fraternity men to attend events throughout the week if they knew

Greek Week Trivia Night: On Wednesday, April 1st, trivia night was
held in Russell House on Greene Street. We had two teams, each
consisting of five members from one of the fraternities we were pair
with and five of our own members. They answered questions about
University of South Carolina history and were able to place third in
this event!
Greek Week Greek Sing: The final event of Greek Week was held on
Thursday, April 2nd. This event is where each team is expected to
choreograph a dance with a collaboration of a few different and lip
sing to these songs while dancing. The theme this year was Rock n
Roll. We took our own spin of things and based out dance off of the
movie School of Rock. The girls in the dance wore skirts, cut-off
jean jackets and red ties. The boys all wore their hair like characters
from the movie, with white button downs and red bow ties. Our
dancers worked so hard and all worked together to put on an incredible
performance! The judges, a team of professors, appeared to agree
because we tied with Kappa Delta for first place out of 11 other teams!
Our dancers always came to practice with their best foot forward and a
great attitude and that clearly paid off! We couldnt be more proud.
Greek Week Winners: On the Monday following Greek Week, we
found out that we won Greek Week! This was an exciting
accomplishment for our Chapter and our sisters were so excited! We
are so thankful to our fantastic partners, including the brothers of
Sigma Phi Epsilon, Phi Kappa Sigma, and Sigma Beta Rho!
Zeta Tau Alpha Pan-Hellenic Appreciation Week: Zeta Tau Alpha
wished to recognize our fellow sororities and fraternities for all their
hard work in the Greek Community and for the support they give us
throughout the year. Each sorority and fraternity was recognized on a
certain day through social media and then given a small gift at their
house during the month of April!
Fraternity and Sorority Awards Night: On April 6th, the University
of South Carolina hosted an awards night to recognize both individuals
and chapters that had outstanding achievements over the past year.
Various members were nominated for awards, as well as the chapter
for certain distinctions including the school ranking system (Gold,
Silver, and Bronze). Zeta Tau Alpha members, advisors, and housing
corporation members were all nominated for various individual
awards including Living the Ritual and Greek Woman of the Year
(Hanna Stone), Best Chapter Advisor (Katie Wilkes) , and Chapter
House Mom/Dad of the Year (Mrs. Alice Legrand). Beta Omicron
received the following chapter awards- Silver Chapter Excellence
Award, Achievement in Involvement, Achievement in Scholarship,
and Achievement in Philanthropy. We also received the final results of
Greek Week, in which our team took first place! It was an amazing
year for Zeta Tau Alpha and we can't wait to see what is in store for
our chapter in the future.
Circle of Sisterhood Ritas Percent Night: The University of South
Carolina Sorority Council is a campus partner for the organization
Circle of Sisterhood. Circle of Sisterhood operates on the concept of
educated women helping educate women as sorority women
understand the true value of a college education. Circle of Sisterhood
at USC hosted a percent night at Ritas in the Vista on April 8th, in
which $1 of the every transaction goes specifically to the USC Trek to
Nicaragua. This trek is extremely precious, as members from the
sorority community are all going to help begin the building process of
the school our community helped fund (all $30,000 worth). Zeta Tau
Alpha had over 40 members go to the event, as well as Instagram with
the hash-tag #ZTAlovesCOS to help raise awareness for this incredible

Chi Omega War of the Wings: On April 8th, Chi Omega hosted their
annual War of the Wings benefiting Make A Wish. Five girls are on a
team and participated in a wing eating contest and received free tshirts while meeting various children that benefit from the program.
Our girls had a wonderful time!
Alpha Tau Omega Field Day: On April 11th, Alpha Tau Omega
hosted a field day for Special Olympics in conjunction with Alpha
Delta Pi. Each sorority and fraternity was responsible for their own
game, and students got to go around and play whatever they wished. It
was a fantastic day for a fantastic cause!
Circle of Sisterhood Trek: Circle of Sisterhood has partnered with a
company called buildOn, which provides a Trek experience for
people all over the world. The Trek is a unique opportunity for groups
to travel to villages in places such Managua and Nicaragua. This May,
they will help with the construction of a school that our sorority
community has worked hard to fund entirely ($30,000 in total.) Kelly
Laynor, a Zeta Tau Alpha member, is our representative and also a
leader on the Trek, as she was a former Sorority Council member. On
the Trek she will participate in construction of the school, be
immersed and learn about Nicaraguan culture, and then bring the
experience back and relay to the community. We are so proud of our
sister!

Sisterhood Survey Monkey: Our Directors of Sisterhood wanted to

allow all the members of the chapter to have a say in the events we
plan. With this in thought, we created a Survey Monkey to get an idea
of when and what these events should be like. Fifty three percent of
those who answered the survey preferred to have these events on
weekends rather than weekdays. We also asked for suggestions that
really turned out to be beneficial. Girls suggested filming the
recruitment video as a sisterhood event, cooking classes, yoga, pottery,
painting, and tie dye. Having this Survey Monkey really gave us
insight of what the sorority feels about events as a whole instead of
just us creating events without the say of others.
Service Survey Monkey: Identical to how we wanted to take our
members opinions into account with sisterhood events, we wanted to
do the same with our service events. We have a goal of reaching
10,000 service hours this year for our chapter and we felt it would be a
great idea to reach out to our members in order to determine the types
of events they prefer and would be most interested in participating in.
We found that our members prefer afternoon and weekend events and
working with children. There were some great suggestions for events
which included a Riverside cleanup and working with the Special
Olympics. We used this feedback to best cater our service events to
our members!
Build-A-Bear Workshop: On Saturday, January 24th, our first
sisterhood event of the semester was a trip to Build-A-Bear Workshop
at the Columbiana Mall. Sign- ups were capped at 75 members
which didnt seem like enough since so many our sisters were eager to

goand we even had 99% attendance at the event! Our members were
split into three shifts of 25, each shift lasting one hour. When our
sisters arrived, they were given Party Animal nametags and paper
crowns, and then given instructions on how to make new, cuddly
friends. We made sure everyone got the full treatment, including
dancing and cheering with the bears hearts before placing them
inside. After stuffing their bears, girls browsed the rest of the store for
a cool outfit to dress them in. Once their bears were dressed to the
nines, girls posed for pictures and finally took their new friends home.
Our sisters genuinely enjoyed the event, and loved the chance to be
little kids again!
Loyalty to the Royalty Photo Challenge: In efforts to keep our
chapter morale high we hosted a photo challenge of why our members
had loyalty to the royalty. It was a fun challenge with the prize
being a gift card and re-gram by @usczta. It was also a great way to
publicize the chapter in positive light!
Bachelor Night: On Monday, January 26, 2015 about 100 members
gathered at the ZTA house to watch the famous show, The Bachelor!
From 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, members gathered in the TV room to
watch the show and chat. We bought 150 cookies of all different
flavors from Insomnia Cookies so our sisters could enjoy a snack
while watching the show. The cookies ranged in flavors from
chocolate chip, mint chip, peanut butter, to macadamia nut. The
cookies were eaten in the first hour of the show and our sisters loved
them! Our sisters loved having something to eat during the show
because it was something else to bond over! We cant wait for the next
Bachelor night!
Valentines Day Card Making: On February 5, 2015, members
gathered in the parlor to make Valentines Day cards that would later
be delivered to children at the Palmetto Health Hospital and the elderly
at LifeCare. We purchased construction paper, markers, and of course
glitter to ensure the cards would look awesome. One hundred cards
were made and they were absolutely beautiful! Our sisters went out of
their way to take their time with the cards and make each one as
special as possible. The cards were filled with cute messages and
pictures that would definitely make the children and those at LifeCare
smile on Valentines Day.
Bachelor Night: We hosted a Bachelor night at the ZTA house in
Greek Village. Members in the chapter were welcome to come to the
house to watch one of their favorite TV shows together and enjoy
some snacks. We brought popcorn for the girls to snack on while
gushing over how cute Chris (the bachelor) is and which girl they want
to win. All of the girls really enjoyed being able to watch the show
together and being able to bond a little bit with their sisters!
Candy Crush Function: On Friday, February 13th, we had a date
function at The River Road and Jasmine Houses. The theme was
Candy Crush because of it being so close to Valentines Day. Our
members wore red, pink, or white cocktail dresses and their dates wore
khakis and button downs. We had a candy bar for our members and
their dates to snack on during the night that consisted of M&Ms,
Reeses, York Mints, Hershey Kisses, Lollipops, Gummy Worms and
Bears, Sweethearts, Rock Candy, Ring Pops, and more. We also had a
banner, which said How Sweet It Is To Be a ZTA with props for our
members to take pictures. Both houses were beautifully set up and
there was a heated tent as well so everyone could enjoy the outdoors
without freezing. One house had tables set up with food which
included an assortment of pastas, garlic and herb mashed potatoes,
corn dip, buffalo chicken dip, goat cheese with raspberry jelly spread,
pimento cheese and an assorted cheese and fruits platter. The other

house included the DJ, along with desserts and candy. For dessert, we
had with dark chocolate mousse, lemon mousse, mini cinnamon rolls
and mini brownies. One of our own sisters brothers was the
professional DJ at our event and he was great! Our sisters and their
dates spent the night dancing away to current and past music
selections. The whole place had a romantic feel. Whether you were
spending the night with a date or just your best friends, the space felt
magical and our sisters had an amazing time!
Valentines at the House: For Valentines week, our house manager
House Manager
decorated the house with pink and purple flowers in the dining room,
heart-shaped candy bowls, and had Valentines signs hanging above
the doors. House girls received goody bags containing chapstick,
valentines candy, valentine themed pencils, miniature slinkies, and
Despicable Me Valentine cards that were hung on their doors before
the Candy Crush function. The house girls really appreciated this and
it helped to demonstrate to other chapter members the benefits of
living in the ZTA house!
Studio Cellar: On February 17th at 6:30 PM, we hosted a new and fun Directors of Sisterhood
sisterhood event! Fifty members met at Studio Cellar to paint pictures.
Each day is assigned to a specific painting, which the crew at Studio
Cellar organizes. That Tuesdays painting was a cowboy boot; which
is perfect for us southern girls. A teacher stood at the front of the
room and showed everyone step-by-step how to paint the picture.
Paints and brushes were set up and provided for us, which made it
easier! Some members showed off their creative side and painted their
own pictures, some members still painted the cowboy boots, but
veered off and made it their own, and some members stuck to exactly
what to do. All of the painting came out amazing and our sisters had so
much fun. Having a different event like this made the girls so eager to
sign up, which is so exciting. Our sisters would LOVE to do this
again.
Sisterhood Retreat: For the Sisterhood Retreat this year, we as
Directors of Sisterhood
directors of sisterhood really had the goal of making it something
really fun that our sisters would actually enjoy coming to. After a lot
of consideration and weighing our options, we came up with the idea
of a field daybecause who didnt love field day in elementary or
middle school, right? We split our members up randomly into a total
of 6 different colored teamseach with a team leader. The team
leaders consisted of the sisterhood chairs, as well as 4 volunteer EC
members, and also included one general refereeHanna, our
president. Each member was supplied with a cute sleeve baseball
style t-shirt, which were designed and ordered by our fabulous t-shirt
chairs! Each member also received beaded necklaces according to the
color of their team, which helped in differentiating who was on which
team. The team leaders of each team were provided with beads, a
whistle, and bandanas also according to their team colors as well;
everyone looked so festive! Upon arriving at the ZTA house, members
were split into their teams where they received all of the above
mentioned items, as well as signed up for all of the events that they
wished to participate in throughout the day. They were also given 5
raffle tickets each, which they were able to put into the raffle buckets
of their choosing; these items would then be awarded at the end of the
day. These raffle items consisted of: 2 sets of custom, hand-painted
corn-hole boards, a movie basket, a spa basket, a candy basket, a
massage gift card, Nike workout shirt basket, a Dunkin Donuts gift
card, and many more; we could tell that everyone was really eager to
find out who would win these items at the end of the day! We decided
to stay on campus to make the event easy for everyone to attend, and it
took place in the Strom Thurmond Wellness Center. It was originally

supposed to be an outdoor event on one of the fields at the gym, but

because of unfortunate weather complications, we had to move it
inside. Because no rooms within the Strom were able to hold 300
people, we had to split the events into two roomswhich proved to be
better than having every girl in one room anyways! In the first room,
we held all of the competitionsboth athletic and non-athletic
which included: a pie eating contest, scuba race, balloon pop relay,
three-legged race, tug-of-war, mummy wrap race, orange pass, and
four corners. Our sisters got really competitive and loved participating,
being silly, and acting like kids again in these events. Every girl was
required to sign up for at least one event, and all of the girls were so
eager to participate that most of them signed up for multiple! There
was definitely no shortage of smiles in the room during each of these
eventswe could tell our sisters were really having a ton of fun,
which made us as directors of sisterhood overly excited. For most of
the events, only about 10-12 members participated from each team,
which gave other members on each team time to enjoy the other room
where we had a lot of fun activities set up, as well as cheer on their
teammates participating in the events. In the other room, we had a face
painter set upwho was absolutely awesome. Girls were so eager to
get their faces painted and were lined up almost out the door. She even
came up with an awesome custom-made design for us that included
crowns, strawberries, white violets and our letters! While some
members were getting their faces painted, we also had a multiplicity of
snacks set upthere were assorted chips and cookies for the members
to enjoy while they waited and hung out. Also, we paired up with the
banner chair to make an absolutely amazing photo booth backdrop!
There were custom DIY photo booth props made by the sisterhood
chairs with things such as lips, crowns, glasses, mustaches and bowties
for our sisters to hold up while posing in front of our awesome banner
and taking cute pictures! Also in this second room, we paired up with
the service chairs to incorporate a bit of service into our sisterhood
event. We bought a lot of fabric and some scissors, and laid the
materials out in this second room for members to make hand-made tie
blankets for a homeless shelter. We were able to make about 8
blankets for the homeless, and our sisters absolutely loved being able
to do a good deed for the day while they had some spare time! After
all of the events were done and the scores were counted, all of our
sisters headed back to the ZTA house in Greek Village to await to hear
the winning team of the day, as well as the winners of each raffle item.
The winning team ended up being the yellow teambeating the pink
team by only ONE point (so you can see how competitive the girls
were!). The girls on the yellow team were awarded 5 extra raffle
tickets each, as well as hand stamped silver ZTA necklaces as a prize!
Hanna Stone, our President, also took the liberty of announcing 2
MVPsthe girls who she thought showed the most spirit,
enthusiasm, and support for their teams throughout the entire day, and
these girls were awarded the same prizes as the winners! After this, we
awarded the raffles, and girls eagerly collected their prizes. We also
paired up with the House ManagerRobyn Spreen, who took care of
ordering food for the girls to be delivered to the ZTA house. While the
girls anxiously waited for the Salsaritas dinner (yum!) to be delivered,
we had a cotton candy machine set up on the back porch! Girls lined
up to get their cotton candy and loved having the sweet treat available
for them at the end of a very long and fun-filled day! Even given our
road bumps in the planning and the rainy-day alternative, we could not
have been more pleased with how smoothly it went. We received so
much positive feedback from the members on EC, PC, and our
advisors, but most importantly from the girls in the chapter. Not a

great sisterhood chairs, Lexi Steele and Christian Madrazzo, and a

planning this event, and to have made it so enjoyable for the entire
chapter!
Wear Your Letters Wednesday Photo Challenge: During the
week of USCs Womans Basketball Think Pink Game, and our
Spring Philanthropy event, Crown Classic, we had a day where we all
wore our Think Pink Jerseys. This was a day we wanted to spread
education and awareness by making a statement on campus. We
encouraged members to post facts when they Instagrammed so others
knew the reason we were wearing our jerseys was to make a statement
for the cause. It was a very successful photo challenge and over 50 of
our chapter members participated.
Parents Cocktail: Parents Cocktail was at Springdale House and
Gardens from 7 to 11 PM on Friday, February 27th before Crown
Classic. Almost three hundred guests attended the event, and
everyone had such a fun time! There was dinner, a cash bar and a DJ
that everyone enjoyed, especially the dancing! We also had a silent
auction with ten items that helped us raise more money for our Crown
Classic Golf Tournament. To go along with the theme, as gifts for
guests, we ordered hot pink personalized golf balls that said ZTA
Parents Cocktail and Crown Classic along with the date of Crown
Classic, March 1, 2015.
National Ritual Week Video: With the hopes of getting in the ZTA
Fraternity video for National Ritual week our Historian, and Ritual
Chair paired together to make a video. With the help of five new
members, the video was rehearsed, filmed, and edited! It turned out
great and can even be used in our recruitment video come Fall!
Dance Marathon Photo Challenge: Trying to excite members to join
the ZTA Dance Marathon Team, we hosted a photo challenge where
the ten best posts would get their registration fee covered. With Dance
Marathon being an exciting event for our University, we wanted to get
the most participation that we could, so our sisters could get lots of
service hours while dancing the night away!
Senior Band Function: For this function, since it is the seniors last
function before formal, we wanted to do a fall band counterpart for the
spring semester and recognize the seniors! The theme was 70s.
Sisters wore printed pants, high-wasted jeans, flared jeans, crocheted
tops, tie dye tops, and floral headbands! Our dates wore mostly tie dye
shirts or graphic t-shirts of 70s bands. The location was Music Farm,
where a band from Atlanta called The Armory played their covers of
well known songs. The five person band was high-energy and
amazing! They had everyone out on the dance floor; even the event
workers were bobbing their heads to the music throughout the night.
They are a rock band, but they dont limit themselves to one type of
rock. They were playing classic, indie, current, and alternative rock! It
was really fun to be able to listen to the music our parents did and
dress as they did in the 70s! The whole night felt like a 70s concert!
For food, there were chicken fingers and chips and dip. There were
high top tables for people to stand at, and there was a little picnic
type area for people to sit and eat or take a dancing break. The night
was a huge success, with seniors claiming that this was their favorite
function yet!
Cinderella Movie Night: On March 24th, 100 of our sisters spent part
of their evening at the AMC Move Theatre in Columbia to watch the
ever so popular, Cinderella. So many of our sisters had been
requesting to see this movie, so we were happy to grant their wishes!
Everyone arrived for the 5:30 PM showing and the theatre was

reserved exclusively for our sisters. Girls bought popcorn, candy and
soda to make the movie experience even better! The movie was
amazing and everyone loved it. Our members talked about it the day
after, during lunch, explain how movies are always an awesome
sisterhood event because its a relaxing activity that everyone can
enjoy! Our favorite line, Have courage and be kind. -Cinderella
Derby Days Airband Dance Practices: Tryouts were held for our
members to participate in the dance competition that takes place
annually during Sigma Chis philanthropy week, known as Derby
Days. A room in Strom, our fitness center, was reserved so there was
enough room for all of our women trying out. About 30 of our
members tried out, which was a great turnout! Unfortunately, only 15
of our members were needed so half of these members were chosen.
The members chosen worked so hard over the course of about 2
months to get their dance together. They practiced twice a week,
learning the different portions of the dance from our dance chair and
then practicing it over and over to reach perfection. The show as an
outstanding success, as our sisters placed 4th overall!
Greek Sing Dance Practices: Greek Sing is the dance competition
that takes place during Greek Week. It is rather theatrical and
entertaining, as it requires the dancers to lip-sync along to their music.
The dance consists of our members, as well as boys from the
fraternities we are paired with. We were amazed by how many of the
boys wanted to participate! Usually it is a struggle to get enough boys,
but this year we actually had to send some home! Our dancers
practiced with the boys for about a month, twice a week. Practices
were held in the dining room of the ZTA House and lasted 1-2 hours.
Everyone always came ready to work and in good spirits! This
obviously paid off, as we placed 1st overall in the competition! We
couldnt have been more excited!
Sending Gratitude to Our Parents: On Thursday April 2nd, our
members wrote thank you notes to our parents and guardians to thank
them for financially supporting our membership in Zeta Tau Alpha.
We recognize that our affiliation is an investment and without the
support of our parents, some of our members would not be able to
financially support their membership. We are so grateful that our
parents and guardians recognize the positive impact that our
membership in ZTA grants us.
Hiwire Trampoline Park: On April 13th, 100 sisters attended Hiwire.
Hiwire is a trampoline park that has obstacle courses, basketball
hoops, and foam pits. Girls were able to use an hour to relieve stress
and just to have fun. It is a great event to bring sisters together and
bond. They loved taking pictures jumping on the trampolines holding
up the crown. These pictures always come out so fun and silly. This
was a great event to have before finals!
Nails and Spray Tans for Formal: Every year, our social chairs plan
the most amazing formal, filled with long dresses, men in tuxes,
endless dancing, and foodand we definitely cant wait to see what
they have in store for us this year! Obviously every ZTA sister needs
to be pampered and looking her best for the big night, so what better
way to do that than by giving our members the opportunity to get a
spray tan or a manicure? During the week of formal, with the help of
one of our amazing advisors, we have scheduled for a woman to come
to the ZTA house and give our members spray tans. Because of finals
coming up and the lack of time to actually spend outside basking in the
South Carolina sun, this will be a perfect way for our sisters to get that
last minute bronze to get them looking fabulous for formal! Also, the
night before formal, we have booked one of our favorite local nail
salons for girls to get manicures! Because whats formal without

perfect nails, right? Girls will be able to come in and get the perfect
nail colors to match their dress to put the finishing touches on their
entire look, all while bonding with their sisters over relaxing and being
pampered. We cant wait to see how much of a hit these events will
be, and are beyond excited for formal!
White Violet Ball: On Friday April 17th, we will be hosting our yearly
formal. This year, we decided to title formal as The White Violet
Ball. We thought it would be fun and exciting to incorporate one of
our symbols into the title of formal, and then create our decorations
using this theme. Since the title is referring to our ZTA white violet,
all the decorations will be white! The event will be held at Embassy
Suites and Hotel. The venue is beautiful and we are extremely happy
about this. Our sisters and their dates will be spending the night
dancing away to a local band, known as 76 & Sunny. Everyone will
enjoy all sorts of hors doeurves including mini sandwiches and
desserts. In addition, we always have pizza at the house for our sisters
and their dates while waiting on the buses that take us to the venue. It
is always a great time to see our members dressed up in full length
gowns with their dates in tuxes, which is the standard for our formal
events. As the school year comes to a close, this is the perfect event to
have to finish off the year on a good note with great sisters and
handsome dates!
ZTA Goodbye: ZTA Goodbye is our 2nd annual end of the year
celebration. The event is filled with awards and membership
recognition to highlight all of the accomplishments we have made
collectively and individually during the school year. Its one our
favorite events of the year and is a great way for our chapter to hangout and spend time together before we leave for the summer. Our
seniors especially appreciate the event since their time as collegians is
so limited. We show a presentation filled with pictures from our events
and film our sisters for our recruitment video. During Zeta Goodbye,
the newly selected Morale will also be presented. There will be a
PowerPoint with a slide of each member that will contain facts about
them! These members will also be given gifts. This will be a great way
to get all of our members excited for recruitment after summer!
Pawleys Front Porch and Marble Slab will also be catering the event!
(YUM!)
Strawberry Patch: What better way to end a school year in beautiful,
warm South Carolina than with a sisterhood event! Because were
fortunate to have such nice weather down here in South Carolina, we
get to enjoy it a little bit earlier than most! That being said, for a final
sisterhood event, we are planning to go strawberry picking! This fun
idea was suggested to the sisterhood chairs by another ZTA sister, and
we fell in love with it. Coming up on April 20th, were planning to go
to Strawberry Cottle Farm where our sisters will be able to pick the
freshly bloomed strawberries! This will give all of the members a
chance to have fun and bond a little bit more before everyone goes
their separate ways for the summer. Were really looking forward to
the event, and especially the juicy South Carolina strawberries well be
eating afterwards!
Gelato Night: On April 22nd, after bible study, the members of ZTA
in attendance will be treated to gelato at Scooby Doo Gelato Shop in
Columbia! There will be fun, fellowship, and yummy treats to be had
at this particular bible study so our chaplains hope to see all of the
regular attendees and newly attending sisters at this event. This event
will serve to reward our regular attendees as well as be an end of the
year surprise celebration for our ZTA sisters!
House Girls Sleepover: On Friday April 24th, we have a movie-night
sleepover planned for the incoming house girls of next fall. It will be

held in the dining and TV rooms. We plan to have a sundae bar and
pizzas delivered while the girls bond and get to know their future
suitemates. We recently bought chick-flick movies that we will binge
on throughout the night! Were so excited!
Finals Gifts/House Girl T-Shirt: As a sweet gesture, our house
manager planned to make care-packages for the house girls as the
stress of finals comes up. In addition, she working with our T-shirt
chairs to design a House-girl shirt featuring our lovely house on the
back with the quote Rockin the house like its 1898. We cant wait
for the ladies living in the House to get these!
Bible Study: We held Bible Study in the parlor of the ZTA House
weekly for the entire semester at 8 PM. The third week of every
month, bible study was replaced with Greek Impact. Typically
anywhere from 10-30 members are in attendance at bible study. There
are a few new faces each week, which is always exciting! The first
Bible Study was used for the members to introduce themselves, and
tell an embarrassing story to break the ice. The two chaplains, Megan
Rife and Madison Raynor also gave their testimonies. Each Bible
Study from then on was opened with a prayer and had a different
theme. There were always snacks and drinks for the members to enjoy
as well! Topics included rejection, acceptance of the Lord, relating
Bible verses to real life experiences with rejection, relationships,
praying for our family and friends, how to be the best person you can
be, temptation, and many more. Many of the conversations involve
open discussions about our personal relationships with God. Our
sisters really appreciate the open and comforting environment and
younger members enjoy the advice that older members have to offer.
Outdoor Soccer: During the Spring semester of 2015, the Beta
Omicron chapter participated in Intramural 7 v. Outdoor Soccer. Each
Thursday night at 7pm, we played other girls in the Pan-Hellenic
community. We played against Kappa Delta, Delta Zeta and Chi
Omega. Every game we played, the spirit shown by the members of
Zeta Tau Alpha was phenomenal. We grew closer each game win or
lose, and developed a stronger bond. Participating in Intramural
Outdoor Soccer has been great for our sisters to build relationships,
which can sometimes be intimidating in a chapter so large.
Sand Volleyball: Spring Semester of 2015, the Beta Omicron chapter
participated in Intramural 4 v. 4 Sand Volleyball. Every Monday night
at 5:45pm, we play the girls in the Pan-Hellenic Community at the
Sand Volleyball courts. Teams we have played include, Delta Zeta,
Alpha Chi Omega and Alpha Delta Pi. Through playing sand
volleyball, the participants have shown a stronger bond of sisterhood,
as well as constant support for everyone playing. Win or lose, our
team builds one another up, making the games much more fun.
EC Member of the Week: Each week our President and General
Advisor pick a member from our Executive Committee that has gone
above and beyond their position's obligations. So many of our EC
members have already succeeded in achieving their personal goals for
their position and inspiring others to do the same. Our members
recognized this semester are: Jess Barriere (VP1), Laurel Nowell
(VP3), Erin Allison (Historian), and Jennings Craft (Panhellenic
Delegate). This has been a great way to reward our chapter leaders for
their hard work and push others to go beyond the standard.
Greek Impact: This event is held once a month and is essentially one
large bible study for the entire Greek community. The event is hosted
by one of the houses in Greek Village. The event is opened and closed
with a prayer, and each month there is a different topic. The end is
followed by a snack and mingling time. Typically, our members meet
at the ZTA house a few minutes before in order to walk over together.

One of our favorite topics from this semester involved a Relationship

Panel. The panel featured a couple who were seniors at USC who had
just gotten engaged, a couple that has been married for 5 years, and a
couple that has been married for over 20 years. The couples were
asked a series of silly questions about each other, which were really
funny, before they started getting down to the serious stuff. The
couples each had their own words of wisdom regarding maintaining
Godly relationships, how to have healthy communication, boundaries
when it comes to sexual relations before marriage, Gods intention for
sex, and many other topics. The relationship panel lasted about an
hour, and then afterwards there was an opportunity for everyone to
hang out and eat some Krispy Kreme donuts on the back porch. Were
so glad these types of events are available to us!
Monthly Newsletters: The monthly Chapter newsletter has been a
great way to spread ZTA's accomplishments to the public. Our PR
Chairs idea of the online blog newsletter and it became a big hit! This
was a great way to get more of the community involved in Zeta's
monthly activities. Instead of sending by e-mail, the online blog posts
have been an incredible way to showcase our chapter to alumnae,
parents, the University and others who happen to pass by our website.
These newsletters included sisterhood events, service days, functions,
and any other events we held as a chapter. We have received such
positive feedback from the website and think it was a great step in PR
for our chapter! The newsletters are a great way for our chapter to
communicate to everyone on our accomplishments. We are excited
about this integration of technology in our newsletter and couldn't be
happier with its success.
