Find maximal total profit that would be the result of loading of all types of
cargo. Calculate M1, M2, M3 and interpret M1.

Solution:

Maximal total profit: 255+303+265= 823 $

M1= 5t
M2= 6t
M3= 4t

M1= 5 t in order to achieve max profit (of 255 $), 5 tones should be loaded on first
cargo or maximum amount or limit where greater allocation of weights to cargo 1
means greater attributed effect for that cargo is 5 t.

3. Earnings of some System can be expressed in a following way:

E1(x1)=5x1
E2(x2)=6x- x2
E3(x3)=12x- x2

Calculate M1, M2, M3 and complete the following table of effects for this
problem of resource allocation:

How many machines are we having on disposal for all sectors and what will be the
maximal effect of such allocation? In the optimal solution, are we planning to
allocate machines in the third project and if so, how many?
Solution:

Operations research, TA session 12. Preparation for test 2

We have 5 machines on disposal for all sectors. The maximal effect of such
allocation will be 41.1.
Optimal solution indicates that we are planning to allocate machines in the third
project. The number is 4.
6. Explain the meaning of N=3 investment projects in the problem of DP
resource allocation.

Analyzed resource will be allocated on 3 investment projects.

7. Explain the meaning of E1 (X1=20 machines) =50.000 KM in the problem of

DP resource allocation.
E1(X1=20 machines) =50.000 KM - If 20 machines are allocated to first object
(sector), following effect that is realized equals 50.000 KM

8. Explain the meaning of Q7= 10 transportation devices in the problem of

DP resource allocation.
The observed system has 10 transport devices that can allocate on 7 objects.

9. On average, 1 customer enters hairdressers shop in 90 minutes and it

takes 25 minutes, on average, for barber to provide a service to

customer. What is the minimum required number of chairs in order for this
system to be stable? Which model of the queuing theory should be used in
this case? For the minimal number of chairs obtained find:
a) Average number of clients in the System
b) Average number of clients in the System that receive service at the same
time
c) Vn
d) Probability there are less than 3 clients in the System
