A Pentagram is the 5 pointed star by itself.

The Pentacle is the 5 pointed star

within a circle. It also can refer to the physical object such as a pendant for a
necklace or a circular piece of wood or metal (even plastic, resin, etc.) that is
placed on a Witch's Altar that would be used in Rituals to cast Spells or
whatnot. The star represents at the five points the 4 Classical Elements of
Earth, Air, Fire and Water, with the top being Spirit, Soul, Divine Guidance,
whatever makes you feel better. Each of The Elements represents a positive
trait that the user works to embody through their use of Magick and personal
development and also calls upon for their Spells and Rituals. The circle
around the star represents infinity and wholeness. Altogether the symbol
represents protection, harmony, power and other things, including fertility as
far as I can remember. Next issue, no, turning the Pentagram or Pentacle
upside down doesn't make it Evil. It's easy to assume that due to all the
movies/books/tv shows/games in which it is cast as Evil because.....reasons.
Depending on the tradition, it can however have a different meaning
depending on how it is interpreted by the group using it in such a way. Also,
no, Witchcraft is not Evil any more than Prayer is. Let the flaming towards me
begin, from all the Christians, Catholics and all others who believe this is
blasphemy. I accept their judgement of my character due to this statement.
That doesn't bother me. Back to the topic. Sorcery, Witchcraft and/or High
Magick are just Prayer in which you realize and combine your own
power/energy with the Divine power/energy that you Invoke to accomplish
your goal. All the tools and supplies that are associated with these practices
are just psychological props to help you manifest your own power to make
things happen. When you reach a certain point, you won't need them
anymore. Prayer on the other hand not only denies your own personal power
to affect change in the world, it makes you steadily more dependent on the
Divine Being/Middleman between you and said Divine Being and robs you of
your choice and agency in the world at large. Just remember, all those Pagan
Gods and Goddesses, Spirit Beings and other helpful creatures out there are
just Demons in disguise, in service to the big, bad, scary Devil. We all know
the Devil wants to enslave you and take your power away from you so he can
control you, manipulate you and steal your soul. The real Divine Being only
wants to build you up, make you stronger and allow you to have your own
power and be free from domination so you can resist the Devil and his
minions. Wait..........
