SAFETY Meanings of Caution Signs WARNING indicates a potentially hazardous situations which, if not heeded, could result in death us injury to you or other persons. CAUTION indicates hazardous situations which, if not heeded, may result in minor or moderate injury to you or other persons, or may result in machine damage. NOTE is used to emphasize essential information. General Safety Rules 1. Handle the RK-3 carefully, as preadjustment may be altered if the instrument receives a strong, shock. A 2. For 110, 120, 220 and 240V areas only Be sure to set the voltage switch to the voltage of the area where the RK-3 is being used, For the procedure, see 3.1 on page 5. A\ 3, When other equipment is going to be connected to the RK-3 using the connector for interface, be sure to check after the connection that leakage current is within the tolerable value. For details, please contact Canon representative ot distributor. 4, When objective Jens within the measurement window is dusty, it may affect the accuracy of measurements. Be sure to clean it periodically. 5. Be sure that the examinee is not placing his/hec hand under the chin rest. His/her hand may be hurt when the chin rest is lowered. 6. In case of problems (ex. smoke, odd smell, noise), disconnect the plug from the outlet To disconnect the plug at any time, free from any obstacles close to the outlet. 7, Never use alcohol, thinner, benzine, or any other cleaning agents for cleaning the cover and monitor, since they may harm the coating of them. 8. When the RK-3 is going to be moved, be sure to turn off the power switch, lock the stage and support the unit by holding the sides at the base. However, when the instrument is going to be transported by automobile, etc., loosen the stage holding knob. Contact Canon representative or distributor for advice on the procedure for packing it. 9. When the RK-3 is not going 10 be used for a long time, unplug the power supply cable from the AC outlet and put the dust cover over it. CONTENTS 1, Features +--+ 2. Description and Functions -- 3. Also, you can observe the retroillumination image and store it in the memory. Thus, the condition of cataract and scratches on contact lens can be explained to the examinee by showing the image on monitor. 2) A picture of natural scenery as the eye fixation target and a unique fogging technique enable the examinee’s eye to be measured in a natural state, so a more accurate measurement is obtained, 3) Even an examinee who is very nearsighted can be measured, because the measurement range of refractometry is widened to -30D to +22D. 4) The RK-3 gives the reading of keratometry in both radius of curvature (mm) and power (D). 5) A motorized chin rest has simplified the alignment operation. 6) By connecting external printer, measurements, eye sketch, retroillumination image, etc. can be printed on one sheet of paper. 7) Video printer, TV moniter, and other equipment can be connected to the video terminal fitted to the RK3. 2.
