School program memory verse: Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with
all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it:
Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.

FIRST DAY:Read all notes with references.

1. What will you apply to your life from the lecture?

SECOND DAY:Read Matthew 24:1-14.

3. a. What did Jesus say would happen to the temple buildings? Give the verse.
b. Read Luke 21:7. What questions did the disciples ask Jesus?

c. What does the additional phrase found in Matthew 24:3 show that the disciples thought about Christs kingdom?
d. (Challenge) From your knowledge of history and previous lessons, when did what Jesus foretold about the
temple take place?
4. a. Read Luke 21:5-36. Consider the word before in Luke 21:12. What different periods of time do you find in
these verses? Give verses and reasons for your answer.

b. What words in Luke 21:24 describe a long period of history before the Lord comes?
5. a. List the types of troubles Jesus said would come. Give a current example for each.

b. What did Jesus say would happen before the end will come?
c. How do you see this happening, and how are you involved?

THIRD DAY:Read Matthew 24:15-23.

6. a. What event did Jesus speak of in Matthew 24:15?


b. What did Jesus tell people they should do when this event happened?
c. What Old Testament prophet foretold this event? Give verse references from the margin of your Bible.

FOURTH DAY:Read Matthew 24:24-36.

a. List some things people will be doing that will be like Noahs day.

b. Compare the attitudes people today have about the return of Jesus with the attitudes of people in Noahs time.

11. a. In Jesus illustration of a master and his servants, describe the character, actions and reward of the first servant.
b. What shows that the wicked servant did not believe his Master would soon return?
c. As you think about verses 47, 50 and 51, what is Jesus message in this story?
d. Read Matthew 13:52; John 6:52-58; 21:15-17. How specifically can you as a BSF member carry out the
command of the Master in Matthew 24:45?

12. Read through Matthew 24 again, looking for repeated words or phrases.

a. What would you say is Jesus main command to His people?
b. What are His warnings?
c. What is the great promise?
SIXTH DAY:Review Matthew 24.

13. How did the study of Jesus return encourage, excite or warn you, and how may your group pray for you about this?
