Presumably lifted from the epic 17 Internet tree'd CD set "Have You Got It Yet" this makes a
far more interesting listening experience than the bigger set." VG+ to Ex.

.Pink Floyd - The Syd Barrett Tapes [no label 1CD demonoid 1539861] fan compilation of
demos, alternate mixes and outtakes and BBC b'casts remastered by needledrop 2008.
"This set was compiled from the best available sources. Fan-made multi-disc sets such as "Have
You Got It Yet" were not used. These sets tend to be over-processed for mass consumption. This
set is mastered from an audiophile standpoint. Mono material appears in true mono and not reprocessed stereo. There was no additional echo or ambience added. Noise reduction was not used
on any material. Hiss was often reduced with judicious equalization. I have tried to present the
best sonic experience possible without compromising the integrity of the source material at
hand. If you need just one concise Syd Barrett bootleg in your collection, then this would be the
one." - needledrop. Ex stereo/mono.

.Pink Floyd - BBC Archives 1967-1979: Revision A [Harvested 1CD Torrent: 147776] "Back
when this title was originally released, Marc-Olivier did an exhaustive comparison between it
and the ROIO known as "At Dawn v4.00". He found neither entity to be superior to the other.
Each one had its strong points in different areas and he suggested an amalgamation of the two. A
little later, we also learned that the speed used for Scream Thy Last Scream and Vegetable Man
were incorrect. Another flaw existed with the 1967 sessions. These were originally mono
broadcasts. But due to "old age" of the tapes, the original BBC 6769, Harvested release had
some channel balance problems. All this, and more, has been fixed on the 'rev A' release." VG+

.Pink Floyd - Interstellar Overdrive: Alternate Masters 66-68 [ESRF 1CD] Released in 2002.
Here are two reviews: "As an exploration of Pink Floyd's early history, this 17-song bootleg CD
has virtually no peer -- beginning with "Lucy Leave," a crunchy two-chord Syd Barrettauthored rocker dating from the group's first session in October 1966, it just grabs listeners and
never lets them go. The group's version of "I'm a King Bee" shows more inventive guitar work
than, say, the Rolling Stones' rendition of two and a half year earlier. And from those two jewels
out of the group's pre-history, the disc roars into the alternate takes from their more familiar
earlier psychedelic period -- the January 1967 long version of "Interstellar Overdrive," the Aand B-sides of the early singles (including a remastering of "Candy and a Currant Bun" that
sounds like the guitars are in the room with you); alternate (and delightfully strange) mono
mixes of "Flamingo" (with delightfully upfront phasing of the guitars, drums, and voices),
"Scarecrow," and "Interstellar Overdrive"; plus stereo mixes of "Apples and Oranges" and
"Paintbox"; and odd Syd Barrett outtakes from the period of his exit out of the band and his

early solo work. The sound is mostly excellent and the art (derived in part from a legitimate
1960s French release) is superior to that of any current legitimate Pink Floyd CD." - Bruce Eder,
Jun 18, 2004 "All studio tracks. Fantastic sound, though more than probably sourced from
vinyl (d'oh). Nice LP-like cover (probably just a scan of the original LP), but some details are
incomplete/untrue. Tracks 1&2 are in fact recorded in demo sessions 1965 and not 66 as
mentioned. The name Pink Floyd was not yet being used and guitarist Bob Klose was part of the
band at the time. Track 3 is simply the 16min 'Tonight Let's All Make Love In London' version.
'Flamingo', tk 7, is of course 'Flaming.' Track 11 a.k.a. Sunshine. Though some tracks are the
same than on the Harvested ROIO "Dawn of the Piper", this one is a must-have for completist
and early-years collectors, especially for the outtakes included and the rare high quality sound.
Except the last track which sounds as it's been recorded through a tin can with a recorder
having speed problems. (the only drawback though)" -- comments taken from OrangeMaze

.Pink Floyd - BBC Radio One Master Reels July 16, 1970 [no label 1CD Yeeshkul 4710] at Paris
Cinema, London, July 16 1970. Atom Heart Mother performed with the Philip Jones Brass
Ensemble Orchestra and the John Aldiss Choir directed by John Aldiss. B'cast on John Peel's
Sunday Concert. "The present torrent "BBC Radio One Master Reels" has no frequencies
missing, but there are signs of processing (EQing), as buffalofloyd suggested in his first post. The
loud parts have a good amount of high frequencies, and when it comes to quieter parts, the
spectrum shows an attenuation of high frequencies (as if a kind of "dynamic hiss reduction" tool
was used). But this is not annoying at all for the listening experience. What is annoying, though,
is some kind of very slight treble noise that can be heard during the quiet parts (e.g. making
John Peel's announcements sound "metallic")." - MOB. Ex SBD mono.
.Pink Floyd - BBC Mono Master July 16, 1970 [no label 1CD yeeshkul 4708] live at Paris
Cinema, London, July 16 1970. Atom Heart Mother performed with the Philip Jones Brass
Ensemble Orchestra and the John Aldiss Choir directed by John Aldiss. B'cast on John Peel's
Sunday Concert. Source is BBC Sound Archive mono master. "The current torrent is the best
version of the mono masters I know. It's better than the "BBC Radio One Master Reels" and
HRV "Mooed Music Rev A". The spectral analysis shows full range of frequencies, and there's
no sign at all of EQing or dynamic dehissing (unlike the "BBC Radio One Master Reels", the
general amount of high frequencies is constant during the full recording). And purely sonically
speaking, the slight treble noise that was present on "BBC Radio One Master Reels" is not here
at all. And John Peel's announcements don't have that metallic sound either. IMHO this is not
the result of some cleaning process (I cannot hear any artefact), more probably from a different
transfer from BBC masters, with other (better) devices. Conclusion: my preference goes for
"BBC Mono Master" (the 10 track RoIO torrented here:
http://www.yeeshkul.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4708 ), because of sound fidelity and
absence of treble noise. - MOB. Ex SBD mono.

.Pink Floyd - Electric Factory Rev A [Harvested 021 2CD Torrent: 117782] live in Philadelphia,
PA, September 16, 1970.
"The last three minutes of Set the Controls appears to be patched from another (inferior)
source. In addition to my normal click and pop elimination, I also removed a chirping sound
from those last 3 minutes. This noise appears to have been an artefact from some dehissing done
long ago on this patch." - Ron Toon. VG+ to Ex- AUD stereo.

.Pink Floyd - Pink Floyd - BBC Radio One Master Reels Sept 30, 1971 [no label 1CD Yeeshkul
4711] live at Paris Cinema, London, Sept 30 1971. B'cast on BBC's Sounds of the Seventies. This
is directly from the BBC master edited for airplay, but not remastered. "Sonically speaking, it's
very difficult to hear any difference between this "BBC Radio One Master Reels" and HRV's
"Meddled Rev A", even on a good equipment with headphones. But beeerlover is true when he
says that the spectrum analysis shows some "missing" frequencies in the HRV release. Maybe a
MiniDisc somewhere in the lineage?" - MOB. Ex SBD mono. This version was probably mixed
to mono by BBC.
Note: MOB also said "HRV CDR 007 "BBC Archives 1970-1971" contains the "stereo" versions
of the BBC shows. However, the 1970 BBC concert was recorded in mono by the BBC, and the
"stereo" versions floating around are actually fake stereo versions (in the '90s, the various
transcription CDs for radios contained artificial stereo versions of Embryo, GITC, CWTAE, If
and the second part of AHM). The content of HRV CDR 007 disc 1 is directly taken from the
transcription CDs (thus, fake stereo), completed by John Peel's comments, Fat Old Sun and the
first half of AHM from the true mono versions."

.Pink Floyd - Blindness [Sigma 5 2CD tapecity 137016] live at Falkoner Centret, Copenhagen,
Denmark, Nov 12, 1970. "Blindness follows the paradigm of the Ayanami by using the excellent
sounding tape and introducing the lesser quality tape in a seamless edit two minutes into "A
Saucerful Of Secrets." The excellent quality recording sounds beautiful. It isn't too shrill and
captures amazing detail of the events on stage including the subtle sounds of chirping birds
during "Green Is The Colour." There are some minor volume dropouts throughout the set, and
there are some speed problems during the first couple minutes "Atom Heart Mother" due to the

tape running close to the end of the side. After a tape flip 6:35 into the song that problem clears
up." Ex- AUD stereo.

purported to come from an FM Reel Master. The sound quality is quite excellent, and this may
very well be an appropriate lineage. The comparison to "Smoking Blues" reveals that this
recording is brighter and cleaner, to my ears. You may find that its not an upgrade. caveat

"This new release provides the first of the two Montreux shows in the most complete form and
with the best possible quality. The main source was Victor's raw master transfer... Victor's
master is a superb audience recording and a compilation cassette he did in the past from both
concerts was copied and ended up on the 1995 'Smoking Blues' bootleg." Released November

Records were played on a Technics Sl-1200MK2 turntable, using a Layla 3G console directly

hear what Meddler was supposed to sound like before being mistakenly edited to mono. It came
from an FM broadcast over the BBC in England. The stereo dimension adds so much to the
recording, you can actually hear very distinctly what each band member is doing." thepinkfloyd.co.uk. Ex FM stereo.

.Pink Floyd - Something from Nothing [Digital Reproductions 2CD Torrent: 59209] live at
Lisner Auditorium in Washington, DC, Nov 16, 1971. "An excellent live audience recording,
very clean and very low gen. Other versions of this show had considerable problems with edits
between songs, strange volume levels and complete drop outs. All those problems have now been
corrected and the results net a fantastic early Floyd show. One of These Days is a really spacey
version, considerably different and longer than most other versions. Echoes is presented by its
working title, a little bit of humor from the boys. Dave seems to be in great spirits and loses
control during the end of Cymbaline. Another must have recording if you are an early Floyd
fan." - The Digital Dan. Ex- AUD stereo.
.Pink Floyd - From A Time So Strange [MoLM 2CD Torrent: 73127] live at Taft Auditorium,
Cincinnati, Ohio, Nov 20, 1971 / A Man of Leisure Music presentation. "This is the famous
concert with the longest ever version of The Embryo (~28 minutes!). It's a phenomenal show,
and this is the best & most complete source that I know of. It combines the two known recorders
for this show. Sound quality for the first recorder is quite good (Ex- I'd say), and decent for the
second recorder." VG+ AUD stereo.
