Wounds and ulcers are the diseases composed of open injury, wound infection of body
surface, and refractory skin and mucous membrane ulcers etc. The main properties of
these diseases are as follows: 1) there are symptoms and physical signs in body surface
and mucous membrane. 2) there are similar pathological changes in disease
development, such as exudation, infection, ulcers. 3) there are skin mucous membrane
ulceration and soft tissue injury. The application of skin regeneration medical technique
and its effects on wounds and ulcers are discussed in this article.
1. Application of MEBO in Different Kinds of Body Surface Ulcers
The causal factors of body ulcers are complicated, including both exterior causes and
intrinsic factors accelerating the generation of ulcers. Importance should be weighed
during clinical judgment. The skin ulcer in body surface, which is not healed after 3
weeks, is called skin tissue ulcer wound. The basic fiber plate turns hard and
contracted without elasticity, and the blood circulation and lymphatic return of surface
layer granulation tissues are bad, leading to hyperplasia, aging, and edema of
granulation tissues, and aggravation of ulcers. The familiar wounds and ulcers in
clinical practice include burns, wounds, and the surgery incisions, which are not healed
in phase . Diabetes and pressure ulcers (bedsore) are also common, and the main
primary diseases of bedsore include pamplegia, hemiplegia due to cerebrovascular
accident, brain trauma, carbon monoxide poisoning. The incidence of ulcers in the
injection sites (such as the areas with drug exosmosis and long-time intramuscular
injection) is comparatively high. In addition, there are circulative ulcers, scarring ulcers,
radioactive ulcers etc.
Routine surgical dressing change is the main therapy for the local treatment of body
surface ulcers. The main principle of treatment is anti-infection and repeating dressing
change, resulting in long disease course, difficulties in curing the diseases, and great
pains to the patients. MEBO is the culture medium of skin regeneration, which is an
ointment with frame construction. When treating burn wound, it can liquidize and
remove the necrotic tissues without damages through the four-biochemical reactions
(that is, hydrolysis, enzymolysis, saponification and rancidity) under the actions of
pharmacokinetics. MEBO contains abundant natural nutritional ingredients, which can
infiltrate into wound tissues, supply essential materials to the growing cells, activate the
stem cells in situ, and make the stem cells divide, differentiate, proliferate to complete
the embryo combination of stem cells in the original position. At last, the physiological
connection of the skin tissues and cells in the original position and the regeneration of

skin can be realized.

The treatment modes of MEBO can be divided into two types: One type is using MEBO
to treat refractory diseases; the other type is using MEBO immediately after ulcers are
found. MEBO therapy can produce two useful effects: one is controlling local infection
of ulcers as soon as possible after the application of ointment; the other is continual use
of MEBO leading to the complete healing of wound. The treatment methods mainly
include exposure therapy and occlusive dressing.
2. Application of MEBO in Dermatology
The wounds and ulcers in dermatology mainly include herpes zoster, eczema,
condyloma acuminatum, children pustular eruption and new-born diaper dermatitis, most
of which are inflammatory reaction diseases caused by bacteria and virus, and can be
cured easily by MEBO. The basic principles and methods of treatment are as follows: 1)
Debridement should be performed, and contamination, pus, purulence scars and
necrotic tissues in the surface layer should be removed before the drug is applied, both
the normal tissues in the wound floor should not be damaged, and there should be no
pains or hemorrhage. 2) The application time of drugs during exposure and bandaging
and the thickness of the drug layer should be controlled. 3) Liquidized substances and
secretions should be removed during dressing change, and disinfectors should not be
used to clean the wound. 4) Treatment of herpes zoster: After the normal skin around
was disinfected with iodophor, sterilized instrument was used to rub or cut the blebs or
blisters to discharge the liquid. After it is dried with sterilized top dressing, MEBO is
applied. The effects will be better if antibiotics are taken. The wounds will be healed
in about 2 weeks. 5) Condyloma acuminatum in the perineum: A sort of benign tumor
that often occurs in perineum and peri-anus areas. The pathogenic factor is
papillomavirus which enters into the basal cells of differentiated epithelia through tiny
erosions and leads to infections. MEBO has the actions of analgesia, protecting wound,
ameliorating microcirculation, increasing immunity of the local tissues, enhancing the
anti-infection effects, and accelerating the healing of wound, and can stimulate the
healing of wound after verruca body falls off. It has been reported that the wound was
treated with 5-FU yarns for 30 minutes before MEBO was applied, resulting in
degeneration and necrosis of the cell tissues with vigorous metabolism in the condyloma.
The objective of the restoration of wound was achieved because of the strong affinity
and healing capacity of MEBO with the wound. 6) Adolescent acne: Adolescent acne,
also called acne vulgaris, is a chronic inflammation of hair follicles and sebaceous glands,
which often occurs in face, and may also appear in the upper chest and back, shoulders
and other parts. Most of the patients have comedones and seborrhea oleosa, and may
have other lesions, such as papula, tubercles, pustule, abscess, scars, and keloids.
Some severe cases may have abscess. MEBO has the functions of clearing away heat
and toxic materials and removing the necrotic tissues, which can help to the removal of
sebum, and lead to unobstructed inducing flow. Moreover, MEBO can destroy the

growing environment of bacteria, lower the virulence and invasiveness of bacterial,

inhibit the reproduction of bacteria, and protect the hair follicles and sebaceous glands
from invasion by the bacteria. In the treatment, drugs can be used according to the
patients' conditions, and severe patients may need systemic anti-infection treatment. 7)
Abrasion of skin: Vaseline gauze and antibiotic top dressing bandaging were usually
used to treat this disease in the past. However, new tissues are easy to be damaged
during dressing change, and there are often scars or dysfunction left after the wounds
are healed. MEBO solved these problems, and made the work of medical personnel
easier. MEBO can accelerate the healing of wound without damage to the new tissues.
There are fewer pains during dressing change, and generally no scars are left after
healing. The above ideal effects can be acquired by combining MEBO therapy with
skin grinding, chemical exfoliation or laser therapy in beauty treatment surgery.
3. Application of MEBO in Anus and Intestine Disease.
As it is said in common people that there are nine haemorrhoid patients in 10 persons,
hemorrhoid is a commonly and frequently encountered disease in clinical practice. The
features of this disease are as follows: The course of disease is long, the symptoms are
aggravated after taking irritative food or drinking alcohol beverage for most of the
patients, and it has influence on study, work, and sleep. MEBO has evident effects of
analgesia, anti-infection, and activating blood circulation to dissipate blood stasis.
1:5000 potassium permanganate solution is used for the hip bath of the patients
suffering from internal and external hemorrhoids, and mixed hemorrhoid. After the
areas around anus are dried with towels, drugs for exterior use can be applied. The
ointment can be sent into anus with internal hemorrhoid and mixed hemorrhoid with soft
tools. The symptoms will disappear in about one week, and it has no stimulation or
damage to human tissues.
4. Application of MEBO in Ophthalmology and E.N.T.
The diseases with high-incidence in the department of ophthalmology and E.N.T. include:
Chronic atrophic rhinitis, vesication of mucous membrane of nasal septum, hypertrophy
of nosepiece, tonsillitis, nasal vestibulitis, chronic otitis media, otitis externa, ulceratiue
stomatitis, angular stomatitis, acute and chronic conjunctivitis. All these are obstinate
chronic diseases difficult to cure. These diseases bring great pains to the patients and
a lot of inconvenience in life and work. MEBO therapy has comparatively higher cure
rate and efficacious rate. The main therapies include: 1) Instilling drugs into the oral
cavity. 2) Buccal or oral medication. 3) Drug yarn plugging. 4) Cotton stick coating
method.
5. Application of MEBO in Gynaecology and Obstetrics
(1) Cervicitis and cervical erosion. Cervicitis and cervical erosion are frequently and

commonly encountered diseases in adult women, which are hard to cure with high
recurrence rate, so that they severely impair the physical and mental health of women.
It has been reported by large numbers of literatures that the above problems have been
solved by MEBO therapy.
The main therapies include: 1) Cervix cotton ball
administration method. 2) Vaginal perfusion method. 3) Vaginal drug yarn filling
method. 4) MEBO combined with laser therapy.
(2) Ulcus vulvae. Ulcus vulvae is usually caused by vulvitis, and it can also result from
non-specific vulvitis, herpes simplex virus infection, Behcet's disease, tuberculosis of
vulva, syphilis, lymphogranuloma venereum. It can be divided into acute and chronic
ulcers. MEBO can be used to treat ulcus vulvae with excellent effects, good inducing
flow, and the actions of controlling bacteria, accelerating healing, reducing damages and
stimulations to wound. In a word, MEBO can provide ulcers with a moist environment
without maceration, make the damaged tissues regenerate and restore in physiological
environment.
Qualitative changes have been produced in fundamental research and clinical treatment
of burns since burn skin regeneration and restoration technique came into being more
than 10 years ago. In the meanwhile, evident effects of this technique have been
achieved in other interdisciplinary subjects, and MEBT/MEBO has been proved to be
scientific, advanced and practical to treat body surface ulcers, mucous membrane ulcers,
and various wounds and ulcers of skin. The causes for the natural occurrence of
various wounds and ulcers and the laws of natural regeneration and restoration have
been successfully found out by skin regenerative medicine. Skin regeneration and
restoration technique provides a new way to the success of curing different kinds of
wounds and ulcers.
