Appointments

Government
Officials and Employees.
The appointment or hiring of new
employees, crea.tion o f n e w position, p r o m o t i o n , o r giving o f
salary increases, r e m u n e r a t i o n o r privileges i n the barangay
shall b e p r o h i b i t e d for a period o f t e n (10) days i m m e d i a t e l y

Projects.
- The
construction or maintenance of barangay-funded
roads and bridges shall be prohibited f o ra period
of t e n (10) days i m m e d i a t e l y p r e c e d i n g t h e date o f
election, the provisions o f Section 261, paragraphs
(v) a n d( w ) , o f t h e O m n i b u s E l e c t i o n C o d e t o t h e
contrary notwithstanding"."

officials elected u n d e r this A c tshall c o m m e n c e a t
n o o n o f N o v e m b e r 3 0 n e x t following their election:
Provided,
however, T h a t t h e t e r m o f o f f i c e o f t h e
b a r a n g a y a n d s a n g g u n i a n g k a b a t a a n officials elected
i n t h e M a y2020 elections a n d subsequently
thereafter, shall commence a t noon of June 3 0 next
following their election."

S E C . 2. Section 4 o f Repubhc Act No. 9164, as amended

by Republic A c t N o .9340, is hereby amended t o read as
follows:
