Classroom Presentation with students:

After a total of six hours of observation in Ms. Okonkwo classroom I then had the opportunity to
stand in front of the class as the teacher and present a lesson to her students. I open up with a learning tape
that begins with the good morning song. As the song played each student goes around, one at a time, shaking
other students hands. When finished I called one student up to identify the alphabets then played the
alphabet song for all the students to sing along with one voice. This fosters student to participation. Students
in this class like to try. If they are correct, I praise them. If they are wrong, I still praise them for trying and
nicely show/tells them how to do it correctly. I use the same strategy, for the days of the week and the
months of the year with different students. I personally handmade 10 green soda bottles, each labeled with a
number (1to 10) I use these bottles and it corresponding tape, to teach her students basic subtraction. A
student comes up and counts the green bottles then the student takes one away, and I ask students how many
is left. I used ten different color ribbons for the students to recognize their color, I taught colors concepts
with a fun song stating black, black, is the color I see, who has black then each student will hold up their
color black and say Me! Me! Me! Then I will play the song the world is a rainbow as the students sing along
and wave their rainbow in the air. I also had music for different farm animals, with visuals to go with it. As
the music played, the students make the animal sound and then at the end of the song the students got up and
interact with the other students by shaking each other hands and saying how do you do?
When my lesson was completed I song the time to stop now and good bye song. I thank Ms. Okonkwo for
giving me the opportunity to observe her in the classroom along with giving me the opportunity to perform a
lesson in front of her students.
