A
s I write, I hear that the UK is ofcially out of recession. Hurray!
At last we can breathe a little more easily in the sound
knowledge that growth is upon us. To be fair we have had a
few early signs of recovery with the number of mortgage approvals on
the way up and unemployment taking a dip last month. Its early days
but good news nevertheless.
One important thing to do this month is to get your DMOTY entry in
to BAR by 19 February. One statistic reported in this issue is from John
Luxford, DMOTY winner 2009, who said that 59% of his customers
said that his company being the winner of the DMOTY had inuenced
their decision to use his company. What better recommendation could
there be!
Theres lots more of course in this issue including, now that the new
BAR website has gone live, the last Website Guide, this time looking
at how the Broadcasts facility works. We also have more information
about the proposed standards-based membership and a taster of the
BAR conference with a prole of Rachel Elnaugh, well known from the
BBCs Dragons Den and as the woman who started Red Letter Days.
Well have more about the conference in March and April.
