Abstract:
In the advance field of science and technology, everyone is concerned about the effectiveness
and easy feasibility of the system for obtaining the desired output. Our idea is economical and
easily feasible. Monitoring through IOT will provide an easy and remote access to transformer
health so that the power system could work efficiently and systematically to fulfill the demands.
Generation, transmission & distribution are the three life cycle for the power system. This
system is further connected with different sub-system or sub-stations with the help of
Transformer (step-up or step- down). So, for the maximum efficiency of the system it is
mandatory to maintain the healthy condition of this components. Thus, the paper provide an
advance technology by use of Internet of Things for the health monitoring and its effects, on
increasing the life period of the transformer for efficient working of Power system.
Transformers and Generators being the essential part of power transmission system are
expensive and so the cost of power interruptions, thus in this paper we have practically
analyzed the various faults in the transformer & generator, its origin and way to overcome these
faults by using low cost highly advance technique of IOT (Internet Of Things) that is a reliable,
internet based technology used for transmitting data services and so monitoring of the
transformers.

Novelty of the work:

Remote monitoring can be done easily through IOT which is very helpful and efficient for the
power systems.

Target beneficiaries of the research outcome:

1. The life period of the transformer increases due to regular instantaneous check up of
transformer at every 5s.
2. High cost for regular maintenance of oil in conservator tank is
reduced by regular monitoring of temperature.
3. Risk probability of power system collapsing is reduced.
4. In case the change in climatic condition will affect the health of
transformer, it could be easily controlled by commanding the operator
through monitoring.
