World Nature Conservation Day: July 28, 2016

World Nature Conservation Day is observed on 28 th July all over the world with the objective of
increasing awareness about and protecting the natural resources that the Earth is bestowed with.
The natural world is facing an ever increasing threat from unsustainable practices and the
challenge is how to preserve and conserve nature in the process of achieving sustainable
development. So it is necessary to understand what Sustainability truly means and also it is
important to inculcate environment-friendly habits to lead a Green Lifestyle. World Nature
Conservation Day recognizes that a healthy environment is the foundation for a stable and
productive society and to ensure the well-being of present and future generations, we all must
participate to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage our natural resources.

28th July is observed as the World Nature Conservation Day (`WCD) each year. Like the other years
this year also the day was observed world wide. India did not fall behind. A festoon displayed, on
WCD carried the photo and words of Ms Mamta Banerjee, Chief Minister of Paschim Bangla, I
support Green Magic. This clearly shows the need to be conscious of nature preservation. WCD
underlines the significance of a healthy environment to enable a productive society that will ensure e
well being of the present and future generations. Conservation of nature is crucial as life of every form
depends on natural resources such as water, air, soil, minerals, trees, animals, fire and gas.
Challenge of the present time is how to protect and preserve nature for human survival and healthy
community life.
Nature is the gift of God. The world was gifted to mankind along with nature. Human beings were sent
to live in this earth by utilizing nature including water, air, soil, minerals, trees, animals, fire and gas.
Apples and oranges from trees, water from coconuts are all gifts of nature. With modernization and
being wedded to economic pursuits human beings exploited nature. People are more concerned with
the sensex rather than nature. We think of nature only when we are tired of the sensex. Nature is a
greater healer of the anxieties of the human minds drowned in anxiety. Poems, literature, songs have
been composed from the inspiration drawn form nature. Yet we do not spare nature to satisfy our
need. WCD observed on 28th July each year closely follows the World Environment Day (`WED)
observed on 5th June. WED started being observed from 1972 when UN declared 5 th June, 1972 as
the World Environment Day. The day is now observed in countries all over the world. It comes before
the WCD by a month. Through WED, United Nations undertakes programmes on environment
protection. Such programmes help to tackle issues on environmental protection and arouses the need
to be responsible and be agents of change in support of sustainable and equitable development.
Celebrated on July 28 each year, World Nature Conservation Day recognizes that a healthy
environment is the foundation for a stable and productive society and to ensure the well-being of
present and future generations, we all must participate to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage
our natural resources.
We all depend on natural resources like water, air, soil, minerals, trees, animals, food, and gas to live
our daily lives.
To keep the balance in the natural world, we must also help various species to continue to exist. A
report from the global conservation organization World Wildlife Foundation suggests that since 1970,
the pressure that we exert on the planet has doubled and the resources upon which wedepend have
declined by 33 percent. Despite the efforts put into conservation by organizations and conservation
activists, their work has been undermined by those who have interests.

Conservation of nature is very important, with scientists warning of mass extinctions in the near future.
Many nature documentaries show resources that are being wasted. We have made this planet a world
of steel and concrete to sustain humanity but at the cost of other species, and it has become more
imperative upon us to conserve these resources that are vital to human survival.
Trees and plants consume carbon which has increased the planet's temperature, increased storms
and sea level rises and freshwater glacier melting that threatens lives. Glaciers are connected to
rivers and lakes which we depend on for drinking water through city/town/community services (where
did you think your water came from?). Birds, bees and other insects pollinate the plants we need to eat
to stay healthy nutritionally. Factory foods provide reduced quality in favor of the financial incentive.
Children who spend time exercising their senses in nature have been shown to increase their skills at
a faster rate than those who don't. Our planet provides us with all of the resources that modern
exploitation have given us, through wood, medecin, water, plants and animals to eat, metals, vitamins,
minerals - yet it's exploited for money with systems of varied complexity. Nature has given us SO
much. If we don't conserve, we lose these precious privileges to exploitation and abuse of resources.
The natural world is facing an increasing threat from unsustainable practices and the challenge is how
to preserve and conserve nature in the process of achieving sustainable development.
The state of nature has an impact on human survival, local and global economics, community life,
human health and wellbeing.
On this day, let us make a conscious effort to contribute to the local, national, and global efforts in
conserving nature and the benefits they provide for the present and future generations.

Celebrated on July 28 every year, World Nature Conservation Day perceives that a healthy
environment is the establishment for a steady and beneficial society and to guarantee the
prosperity of present and future generations, we as a whole should take part to ensure,
moderate, and economically deal with our natural resources.
Nature has given us a few things like water and soil contingent upon which we, people,
can lead our life calmly. The people, in thirst of innovation, have made a few things few of
which are crushing the Natures endowments. After the start of the harm, few of us
understood the significance of the green. They began making other individuals get
mindful of the significance of the protection of Nature for people.
World Nature Conservation Day is observed on 28th July all over the world. Nature provides us with various
indispensable services which has made possible human existence on the planet. From the air we breathe to the
raw material required for the development process, everything is provided by nature. The rapid development
process is putting pressure on the natural resources like air, water, forests, wildlife, fossil fuels & minerals.
Excessive and unsustainable use of these resources is causing degradation of nature. Nature Conservation is
the wise management and utilization of natural resources. Many governments have adopted initiatives for the
conservation of nature. Conservation of nature is very crucial and scientists have already given a clarion call to
prevent Mass Extinction in the near future. Many nature documentaries reveal the importance of preserving every
resource that nature has bestowed us with, yet humans have paid a deaf ear. We are seeing a world where many
species are getting pushed onto the brink of extinction and thats a disgrace. We have made this planet a sterile

world of steel and concrete only to sustain ourselves at the cost of other species. Currently, global warming is a
major problem that the entire world is working to fight against. Global warming is the real cause for the Tsunamis,
earthquakes and other natural disasters which took away many humans lives in recent years, in many parts of
the world.
