The physical environment in producing a theater is one of important parts that should
be considered. It is because the stage spaces help to determine the nature of the theater
experience. Talking about this material which exists in Chapter 16, it has been presented by
Group 4. In presenting the material, it can be found the strength and weakness from the
video. Here they are the strength and weakness existed in the performance and the content
they delivered.
Based on the video, the performance which was done by the 4 th group was good. Their
accents were good and they showed very good self-confidences in front of the class when
explaining the materials they got. Talking about the fluency, their fluency also was nice
although one member (Ergi) mostly read their note while explaining. Focusing on their
pronunciations, there are some words that were pronounced in the wrong way. Those wrong
pronunciations became the weakness of the 4th group. They were failed when pronouncing
audience, now, variety, and repertoire. Fatally, the wrong pronunciation of
audience was done repeatedly.
The content of the material that they were explained was almost complete. They
mostly used familiar words in explaining the material, so it helped the listener to understand
the points. But, the weakness was they put a wrong title in their power point. They wrote
Stage and Space when it should be Stage Spaces. Besides that, there are some unfamiliar
words which were not pronounced well, so it influenced the listener in catching the meaning
that the performers wanted to deliver.
In conclusion, both in the performance and the content that the 4 th group delivered,
there were strength and weakness existed. Their performances were good concerning their
fluency, accent, and confidence. But they pronounced some words wrongly. Their content of
material was almost complete, but they wrote a wrong title for Chapter 16.

Scenery is a visual image of the stage that is created by a scene designer. Scenery will
give a significant effect toward the total mixture of theater. Scenery is the material which
exists in Chapter 17 and it has been presented by Group 5. From the video made by Group 5,
it can be found the strength and weakness when they presented the material. Here they are the
strong and weak points found in the performance and the content they delivered.
The performance done by the 5th group was good, but the presenters showed
nervousness in the beginning of the presentation. It can be observed clearly that they were
nervous, but as the presentation flew, they were able to handle it. Considering about fluency,
they could deliver the material fluently. But the bad side was they mostly read their notes. In
pronunciation, Yuni repeatedly pronounced Establishing in the wrong way.
Next is about the content of material they delivered. The content that was delivered by
the presenters was not complete. They didnt talk about The Objectives of Scene Design
and they just explained briefly about Aesthetic Aspects of Stage Design. But the strength of
the presentation was they tried to give some examples for some points they explained.
To sum up, the performance they did was good, although there were available
inappropriate pronunciation and reading a lot while explaining material. Besides that, the
content of material that they delivered was not complete. However, they gave good examples
for some points of the material.
Questions:

Costume is an important element in a play that help the audience to interpret the
background of the story. The detail of stage costumes are explained in chapter 18 and
presented by group 6. On the presentation, there are two points as the main concerns that
should be analyzed. The strength and weakness of the presentation done by group 6 are two
points that should be analyzed.
In doing a presentation, the presenter has to use the simplest yet effective way to
present the materials. It can be the strong point in presentation. This principle is applied by
the 6 group. They delivered the material by using simple words so that the audiences easily
understand the content of presentation. Some points of presentation that are a bit complicated
are provided by examples. The presenters rarely read the slide or paper. They are looking at
the audience during their presentation rather than reading their paper. Their pronounciations
are also good.
In the presentation conducted by group 6, there are several weaknesses that can be
found. The presenters seem too focus on what they have remembered rather than develop it
by their own words. It makes their explanations a bit rigid. It unconsciously affects their
facial expressions. Another weakness found is the wrong pronounciation of word audience
and the audience. This mistake is done by all of the presenters but it is not done repeatedly.
In conclusion, the material delivered by group 6 is clearly understood. They use
simple words and provide examples for every difficult concept. Although there is some words
that are pronounced wrong, their pronounciations are quite clear.

discussed in chapter 19. Lighting and sound is presented by group 7. In their presentation, we
can take two main points to be discussed. The strength and weakness of their presentation are
two points that will be discussed.
The strong point of the presentation conducted by group 7 is confidence. Their
confidence becomes the most prominent aspect of their presentation. All presenters seem very
confident in delivering the materials. Some of them use their own words in presenting the
materials. The content of their presentation is also easy to understand because they present it
in simpler way.
Pronounciation is one of the issues faced by group 7. There are some words which are
pronounced in wrong way. Some of them are the audience, costume, and microphone. There
is also a presenter whose pronounciation is not clear enough. Another issue is presenters
mostly read the text. Rather than using pointers relate to the content, they prefer reading
some parts of their papers. It is not effective because the presenters too busy with their
papers.
To sum up, there are several issues that are faced by group 7 in conducting the
presentation. Those are wrong pronounciation and too much reading. However, their
confidence is the strength that can be found in their presentation.
