We are a sociable full-size symphony orchestra (around 70 players), one of the country's oldest amateur orchestras and celebrated our centenary in
2011. Besides four concerts per season we also have regular repertoire sessions. We have vacancies for all strings (particularly double basses), coprincipal trumpet and tenor trombone. We'd also be interested in hearing from wind (particularly oboes, bassoons, contras) and all brass players who
would like to do some extra playing as we often need augmented sections for concerts and the occasional dep. We have a limited number of rehearsals
per concert, so new players must be grade 8+ standard with previous orchestral experience and good sight-reading skills, and be willing to commit to
attending most rehearsals.

years old, and in that time have been involved in many exciting projects, including being recorded performing at St John's Smith Square by the BBC,
establishing a successful residency at St Patrick's Church in Wapping, recording pieces for short films and setting up chamber ensembles. In this time
we have been able to establish ourselves as a well recognised, high standard amateur Orchestra. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings in Wapping.

The orchestra provides an excellent opportunity for instrumentalists, particularly in the Civil Service, to rehearse together and perform 3-4 concerts a
year to a high standard, often including 'big' orchestral works that are just fantastic to play. We are keen to welcome new members (you don't have to
