Context of the lesson
This lesson is for foundation stage 2 students. Students are going to learn the types of food through reading the
story.
Teaching goal
The overall aim of this lesson is to teach the students different types of food through reading the story.
Learning objectives
o Read the story and identify the types of food such as; apple, orange, lollipop, ice cream and cupcake.
o Classify the food among their order in the story (apple, plums ).
o Describe the food color and shape (the apple has a circle shape and a red color).
o Select students favorite food and talk about what they like to eat (I like to eat apple/ My favorite fruit is
apple).
Assumptions about prior learning
o Some students may know some kinds of food such as; apple, orange, and watermelon.
o Some students may give more examples of food such as; cherry, figs, and pineapple.
o Some students may know some parts of the story.
Anticipated problems and possible solutions
o Some students may not able to identify the different kinds of food, so I will give them an example, and then I
will ask them to find more in the story.
o Some students may not able to classify the food among the order in the story, so while I am reading the story I
will ask them questions such as what was the first food that the caterpillar ate?
o Some students may not have a favorite food, so I would ask them to describe one kind of food.
