1.

Why do bumper stickers not count as true arguments?

Bumper stickers do not count as true arguments because they are more like a
unilateral statement. As they are a unilateral statement, they do not show evidence or a
reason to support a cause. In additional, a true argument needs to show an opinion or a
purpose that makes believe in a cause.

arguments? Which, if any, do you find unclear or confusing?

For me, the number 5 is more unclear and confusing because is hard to express a
deep view about an argument.

1. State explicit claims: In this case is necessary to make a kind of not

obvious statement. The principal idea is more like a thesis.

reasons to support an argument. Also, is necessary to claim and explain about the
reasons.

in the form of information as facts, statistics and direct information.

understand about the disagreements about issues by accurately representing differing
views.

view about what they read.

of a subject by asking.

information a clear way, as simple information that the reader can understand each part.
8. Signal relationships of parts: In this case is necessary to indicate in a clear
and in logical way the relationships that readers can follow an argument without getting
lost.
9. Document sources carefully: In this case is necessary to provide
information as a source that readers can consult the same sources the writer used.

3.

Do you think it is important to acknowledge that other people may

have positions different from (4) what you are arguing for? Explain why or why
not.
It is really important to acknowledge that other people may have different
positions about the same statement. It is important because if you recognize that your
position can have a different view for other people, this can make your position valid and
maybe better.

4.

Give several examples of how we can argue respectfully. Why is this

important?

Try to think how the people going to react about your argument. We can try to

and a kind of funny in our speech. It is important because we need to be respectful with
others and with a respectful speech is easier to be understood.

such a big deal?

The four ways to build your credibility are, be concerned, be well-informed, be

fair and be ethical. Credibility is such a big deal because if you have this, is easier the
people receive your ideas such a real idea and believe in you.
