the country as well. It is expected that this initiative would gradually increase the
awareness of the need & scope for enhancement in EE in the domain of electrical
motors, which in turn would lead to significant reduction in electrical energy
consumption in industries.
The agreed Terms & Conditions for the collaboration are as under:
1) IamSMEofIndia shall provide at its cost and liability the infrastructure such as:
(a) Space/ Building for the Centre (including acquisition of land, if required for this
purpose);
(b) Power supply to cater to the load of the testing facility, lighting, power points, air
conditioning, etc. as required for the Centre;
(c) Furniture as required for the premises such as desks / tables, chairs {for office areas
& training / seminar room(s)};
(d) Amenities as required for training / seminar purposes (such as overhead projection
system, audio / video systems, computers, printers, internet connection, etc.);
(j) Air conditioning of the relevant areas such as equipment laboratory, training /
seminar room(s), instructor rooms(s), etc.; and
(k) Administrative / support staff (both technical & non technical) for the Centre
2) IamSMEofIndia shall also undertake the responsibility of running / maintaining the entire
infrastructure as indicated above for a minimum period of 03 (three) years, and shall
also comply with all associated statutory norms, regulations, tax obligations, etc., and
BEE shall have no liability whatsoever in this regard.
3) Under the GEF-World Bank Project BEE shall provide / organise:
a. A grant up to a maximum of Rs. 30 lacs (Rupees thirty lacs only) towards
procurement, installation, and commissioning of the motor winding simulation /
testing set up at the Centre.
b. Technical specifications, drawings, etc. for the test equipments as required for the
Centre which would be finalized in consultation with IamSMEofIndia.
c. Capacity building / skills enhancement programmes for up to 200 representatives
from industries spread over a period of 12 months from the date of commissioning of
the Centre. Such expenses to be borne by BEE shall include the fees of expert faculty
(including their travel and lodging costs) as well as the logistical costs towards the
training such as may be incurred for tea/coffee/refreshments, printing of training
material, provision of folders to the participants, printing of participation certificates,
publicity expenses, etc.
d. Training of technical staff deployed at the Centre for the operation and maintenance
of equipments, as well as for imparting training to the participants.
BEE shall not bear the expenditure towards the procurement of test equipment exceeding
Rs. 30 lacs, the infrastructure related expenses such as power supply, air conditioning,
facility usage, etc. associated with the training sessions, and any other costs towards setting
up and running the Centre that have not been listed above. All such expenses shall be borne
by IamSMEofIndia.
