What well learn


Today well look into the roots of the French Revolution. Well learn how economic
struggles mixed with class tensions to create a force the governing establishment could not
compete with. Well also explore how the themes of the French Revolution might be
reflected in the modern world.

Why this matters
Depending on where you sit in the established power structure, it can be easy to imagine
that the status quo will never change. However, the French Revolution shows us how
underestimating the anger of the middle class and poor can be a dangerous mistake. It also
shows us what can happen when people realize their own power.
