Yield here
The coffee beans themselves are obviously your greatest expense. Thats why it is
crucial to ensure your extraction process gets the most out of your valuable beans.
What you might not know, however, is that both time and temperature play a
huge role in determining the quality of the aroma. A short extraction time at
moderate/low temperatures is one key to a high-quality aroma extract. The
FIC speeds up the water flow, ensuring a turbulent flow around the coffee
particles to enhance the extraction rate at the desired temperature.
Having delivered more than 200 instant coffee plants around the world since
our start decades ago, GEA Niro is at the forefront of coffee processing
technology and good taste.
3 modes of
operation
The FIC gives an extremely efficient, high yield with better quality than you can
get from any other equipment a yield of up to 53% or more, with excellent quality.
Turns on a dime
Youre in full control with the FIC. Choose between one, two or all three modes
of operation to create a finished product that is the right match with your market
and your aspirations. And change easily from one to another mode at your
discretion. The FIC can do it all.
2. Effective extraction requires that all coffee particles come into contact with
the extraction water. The roasted and ground coffee is therefore pre-wetted in
a mixer that ensures uniform wetting. Pre-wetting actually has two purposes:
to avoid channelling of the extraction water and to help de-gas the coffee
particles to avoid foam formation.

3. The pre-wetted coffee is filled into the extractors; at the same time air is
removed from the extractor to ensure correct packing of the coffee. Then a
high vacuum removes all remaining gas in the coffee.

6. The design of the extractors and the preparation of the roasted and ground
coffee make the higher liquid velocity and shorter extraction time possible.
The FIC decreases overall extraction time from the conventional 200-240
minutes to roughly 120 minutes.
