YES Prep North Forest is the proud

home of the Legends! Founded in 2010
with its first 6th and 9th grade classes,
YPNF is YES Preps first campus in the
North Forest community. Our school
exists within a district that serves
unprivileged, minority students. Its sole
mission is to get ALL students to and
through a four-university, and have them
come back to their community with a
degree ready to serve others.

Student Data:

Teacher Credentials:
The majority of professionals on our campus have about 3
years of teaching experience. Approximately one-fifth of our
staff are beginning teachers this year. There are only a couple
of people on staff who have been teaching for eleven to
twenty years.
All teachers have at least a bachelors degree, and about 15%
of teachers have a Masters. Only one of our teachers has a
Doctorate degree.
The average teacher to student ratio is 14:1.

Now Senior,
A. Douglas,
leads our
Varsity
Boys
Basketball
team to
victory in
the Charter
League this
past school
year.

Our goal for teacher retention is that all highly effective

teachers, will commit to at least four years in a classroom at
YPNF.

Special Programs:
Wewe
Though our school is small and focuses on college
preparedness, we still have programs on campus
geared to help the child have a holistic school
experience.
-students grades 7-12 can participate in volleyball,
flag football, cross country, dance, cheerleading,
soccer, basketball, track, baseball, softball and spring
volleyball. The majority of our sports have male and
female teams.
-students can also join Yearbook, Legend Media
club, SGA, GSA, or clubs and activities through our
ACE (afterschool) program. Many of our High
School students take advantage of this program
because they can participate in Drivers Ed.
Lastly, we offer Fall and Spring Trips for most grade
levels throughout the year.

According to student achievement data, we met

standard for last school year. Some highlights are our
High School STAAR EOC tested courses English I and
II, Algebra I, Biology and U.S. History. In each of those
courses, we met or exceeded the state average, and
fared well according to the rest of schools in our
district. Middle School results increased in Writing from
the previous year. In comparison, ESL scores for Middle
School almost matched the state averages. Both of our
previous graduating class were deemed college ready at
94% or higher for students. We are anticipating that at
least 73 of our initial sixth graders from opening year
will graduate and attend a four-year college or
university in 2017!
